Julian Moore confirmed that Jackie director Pablo Larrain will direct the miniseries version of Lisey’s Story for Apple TV+ streaming service. King has written all eight episodes himself and filming will begin in the fall.

Is Lisey's Story The Same As Faces?

The Playlist reports that Darius Khondji is going back to TV with a show for Apple TV+ directed by Pablo Larraín, based on King’s Lisey’s Story that now apparently is titled Faces.

They also claim that other sources state that Faces and Lisey’s Story are one and the same; the same Apple TV series. It’s not clear why the title has change (it could just be a working title) but they are certain that it’s an adaptation of Lisey’s Story.

Why the hell would they change a Stephen King story title? Lisey's Story might not be one of his most recognizable story titles, but if a person googles "Lisey's Story" it immediately returns results relevant to King's book, and would in turn return results relevant to the show. Whereas googling "Faces" is damn near useless.

I cant help but suspect this is the result of Apple's typical "Our way is the only way." company BS. Instead of using King's title they have to come up with their own title. Just like instead of using industry standard electronic ports and cables they have to be arbitrarily difficult and make their own BS ports and cables that only work with their overpriced hardware.

Title change makes no sense to me unless they changed it so much in adapting it, they no longer felt like it should be called Lisey's Story. Cuz maybe it ain't Lisey's Story any more, knamean.
