Nothing too exciting, but now we know who is building the Orion spacecraft for NASA, just one step closer.

That picture is so fake. So, the space shuttle goes out of style and business.

is that a shuttle? booo. they should try to push for startrek style!!

It looks like Mickey Mouse.

The current shuttles look alot more sleek/cooler.

Star Trek would be cool. So would Snakes on a Star Ship

Obviously it's fake. That picture just shows what the Orion spacecraft will look like when it's finished. To tell you the truth I prefered Lockheed's original proposal. And I do wish that NASA decided to develop new technologies instead of making something new with existing technology

That was Lockheed's original proposal until NASA said that it had to be "Apollo on Steroids" :cmad:

What a peice of ****...it's the 2-****ing-1st century shouldn't it look cooler than that?

Shouldn't the 21st century also include the flying car, floating cities, and robot maids that will eventually revolt against their human masters. And that is not what the Orion spacecraft will look like.

It'll look like this:

What happened to the proposed X-33???

And name it the USS Enterprise dammit!!!!!!!!!

I honestly don't think we'll see flying cars anytime in the near future.

It may not look like much but it's got it where it counts. I've made a lot of special modifications myself.

Radar Operator: Colonel, you better have a look at this radar.
Colonel: What is it, son?
Radar Operator: I don't know, sir, but it looks like a giant...
Jet Pilot: Dick. Dick, take a look out of starboard.
Co-Pilot: Oh my God, it looks like a huge...
Bird-Watching Woman: Pecker.
Bird-Watching Man: [raising binoculars] Ooh, Where?
Bird-Watching Woman: Over there. What sort of bird is that? Wait, it's not a woodpecker, it looks like someone's...
Army Sergeant: Privates. We have reports of an unidentified flying object. It has a long, smooth shaft, complete with...
Baseball Umpire: Two balls.
[looking up from game]
Baseball Umpire: What is that. It looks just like an enormous...
Chinese Teacher: Wang. pay attention.
Wang: I was distracted by that giant flying...
Musician: Willie.
Willie: Yeah?
Musician: What's that?
Willie: [squints] Well, that looks like a huge...
Colonel: Johnson.
Radar Operator: Yes, sir?
Colonel: Get on the horn to British Intelligence and let them know about this.

Besides, it looks like something from a SCI-Fi show produced by a local T.V station in Alberqurque N.M. in the 1950's.

And name it the USS Enterprise dammit!!!!!!!!!

It got canned due to a bunch of technical issues (such as flight instability and exceessive weight.

And the first space shuttle made was named the Enterprise. It was used for test flights before manned shuttle flights were made. It was going to be retrofitted for human flight but too many changes had to be made

The current shuttles are POS's, because everything was a compromise. Besides, space vehicles don't necessarily need to be aerodynamic in the way atmospheric craft do.

I remember the Enterprise Space Shuttle. That was 1979 I believe. I think they need to bring that name back for another Shuttle.

They will get right on that 300 years from now as soon as Captain Pricard is born.

actually they do, since during lift off they ahve to fly through our atmosphere and during landing as well. The majority of the shuttle is stoarage of gasoline and most of the gas is used during lift off. If it wasn't aerodynamic they wouldn't be able to lift off.

they exist but you need an aviation liscense to drive one, and they look stupid, and they use a lot more gas than regular cars. It would be pointless to put them on the market.
