Friend zone jokes make me really, really uncomfortable. They seem very sexist to me.

EDIT: Well, okay, some friend zone jokes aren't sexist and are funny.

What I mean to say was THIS friend zone joke seems very sexist to me.

Because a lot of them seem to be based on two premises:

1: This is a trait inherent to most/all women.

2: Being nice to and supportive of a woman makes you entitled to be in a relationship with them.

These premises are kinda sexist.

I can think of five instances within the last 3-4 years off the top of my head. One of them included me. Three of the girls in question were, objectively, quite tappable.

In any event, that doesn't prove that "friend zoning" is a trait that all or even most women have.

It's funny, because you complain about how all women claim all men are "no good". A bit hypocritical, eh?

As jaded as I am about women, I don't recall ever claiming that -all- women say that -all- men are "no good".

But I do know quite a large number of women who do nothing but complain about the *******s that they meet, and do nothing to associate themselves with the "good guys" in their lives.

But I do know quite a few women that -do- know how to pick men, and -don't- ***** about guys being "*******s", and yes, these are even girls that I'm in the "friend zone" with and would never have a shot at.

Being "friend zoned" is a lot easier to deal with when the woman has good taste in men, is with a good one that treats her right, and isn't going to be *****ing to you all the time about how guys are *******s, and how she wishes she could meet a guy who is essentially you, but completely ignores you on that level for whatever reasons she does.

Well you can't really say something like that and expect it to go unanswered. The people that make jokes about it are really just pointing out the irony. The concept in itself is already a joke, really. Like someone standing in a pizzeria and saying "I can sure go for some pizza right now. Shame I can't find any."
