Sam Jones III just went from Smallville to guilty town.

The actor, best known as Clark Kent's former buddy on the long-running Superman series, today pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 oxycodone pills.

So how did he go from small-screen good guy to a drug trafficker?

Jones, 27, was busted at his Canoga Park, Calif., home last year for allegedly trying to sling the painkiller otherwise known as "hillbilly heroin."

Today, he pleaded guilty as a coconspirator in the drug ring, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

The feds arrested him after determining he was the "Hollywood connection" involved in the ring's illegal purchasing and distributing the drugs.

Jones now faces up to 20 years behind bars when he is sentenced in June.

Who knew?:wow:

You didn't need to make a whole new thread. We were talking about it in lounge thread. Plus when he was arrested last yr it was very likely he wasn't going to appear again on sv. It is sad it happen. But some folks make some bad life decisions some times.

I don't frequent the boards as often as I once used to, so I wasn't aware of this issue. Just thought I'd share, but it's already done.

Oh no problem man. Its best to check things first some times so we don't end up clogging thread up with same things. I was just trying to give u heads up there.

sorry to his fans... but he's a ****ing idiot... he had the chance to have a career and he's pissed it away...

Yeah, I always liked him but after seeing this news and googling his name, it looks like he's a real d-bag.

Well at least now he'll have the time to chew all of that Stride gum he brought with him last time....

Well, that sucks...

"Pete, we need to talk."
Poor guy, talk about making all the wrong choices...

Why did the actor leave the show? Was it because he wanted to leave? Or was it the show who wanted him to leave?

It was a few factors if I recall. Sam wasn't happy with al/miles and not getting enough screen time. So he didn't renew his contract and then left..

Pete really didn't serve any purpose, he was just around.

well yea sam was way under used. he and chloe should have been spilt time together and used better. i do wonder where things would have gone if pete character stayed around longer.

Pete was a good friend to Clark. Other than that, he didn't have any purpose to begin with. Sorry to hear about Sam, I don't want to judge someone I know next to nothing about, but he should've known better.

well being a comics character he should have been used more or more equally then chloe. though chloe did become more popular character so it did suck there. But chloe was still cool. But pete definately should have been used more then he was. But what happened happened and we cant change it now.

I have to agree, they easily could have used Pete in Chloe's role but the show seemed more happy catering to shippers. The fact pete didn't have a pair of boobs made it hard to fit him in. I think one of the shows many mistakes was not having enough male presence in Clark's life

At the time I don't think they had much idea of what to do with some of the characters. Pete was sort of just there, Chloe was sort of a creepy stalker.

Well that sucks for the guy. What the hell PETE????

Ya he shouldn't have done a stupid thing. But we are all human we makes mistakes all the time. Hopefully he will learn from this and if/when he finishs his jail time he can fix his career.

Thats what happens when you sell Kryptonite laced drugs. :)

I had no interest in seeing the Pete character again anyway, his time should have been in the early seasons befriending Clark & being his best friend through High School & Collage. He shouldn't have left at the point in which he did, perhaps a season or so later.. although from what I recall his exit story was good.

His re-entry episode was absolutely horrendous, one giant Stride gum commercial. Definatly one of the worst episodes Smallville has put out.. shame as well. Could have been a nice one of episode in which Pete simply needed Clarks help perhaps moving some crates of oxycodone pills across the country quickly as he was getting some heat from the pigs.

Pete needs to sell them to pay his debts to a loan shark otherwise he'll remove one of Pete's fingers for every day the payment is late. Clark of course is against the idea completely, however eventually is guilt tripped into it. He then decides he'll put the loan shark in the Phantom Zone. End of story.

The final scene is touching, Pete & Clark are both in the barn. Pete has himself 1 of the 10,000 oxycodone pills & Clark hovers up the remaining 9,999 in true Dean Cain style (insert Dean Cain video of him hovering up the sweets from jar at superspeed in L&C). Both are high as kites & the episode ends with them tossing around ideas of who is the best Teletubby. The End.

No but in all seriousness, I feel sorry for the guy however that's life.. we all have to take responsibility for the choices we make daily, good or bad.

I take it you haven't heard about his sex tape either? :o
Thanks, that's a mental image I really needed. :(
"Mein Eyes! The goggles, they do nothing!"

"Pete, we really need to talk."

Pete wasn't that bad on the show.
It's kind of interesting though, because in the comics, Pete married Lana Lang. :)
He also, Pre-Crisis, I think, became a senator, like Barbra Gordon.

He became the Vice President under Lex Luthor in Post-Crisis. Have to keep an eye on Lex somehow, I guess.
And he's white.

I was thinking that maybe they could film a scene where Clark finds out that Pete is now in jail for drug trafficking. That will show that not all of his friends stayed on the right path. Pete could always be the friend that Clark wasn't able to save (apart from Lex Luthor, and maybe a few others). It would be even more tragic since Pete's mother is meant to be a judge.
