Capcom will be doing some sort of a collaboration between Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim film and Lost Planet 3 in Japan, according to an Anime Anime report (via: ANN). Pacific Rim will hit Japan on August 9th, while Lost Planet 3 will be released on August 29th. More details regarding the collaboration will be announced at a later date. Lost Planet 3 takes place on a planet called EDN III, and allows you to fight Akrid aliens both on foot as well as in a mech (called “Rigs”). Meanwhile, Pacific Rim is a film where mechs (called “Yaegers”) do battle with Kaiju monsters. The similarities between the two are what resulted in the collaboration.
