Tea Leoni stars as the Secretary of State, one of the most powerful people in the nation. After years away from the CIA, she is pulled back into the political arena where she gets things done, even if it means not always playing by the rules. She's tough, fair and smart driving international diplomacy and wrangling office politics. But when she goes home for dinner with her husband and teenage children, politics takes on a whole new meaning.

Well I thought there would be more of a cliffhanger for the mid season finale. Would've been interesting if the President of the United States and his Chief of Staff were involved in an assassination plot.

I wish there were more people discussing this show. It's been a great two seasons.

We've just had the season 2 finale. Elizabeth must now contemplate a promotion from Secretary of State to Vice President.

I don't know if she would take it or not. Would it be possible for her to do both roles?

Usually the VP isn't all that active. Well, I suppose it depends. The VP in this show is virtually non-existent. Now Dalton wants to replace him and only has one name on his list. So if she doesn't take it, who would he get?

But would they have to change the name of the show? Or would season 3 still have her operating as SOS before she is actually promoted to VP, perhaps after an election?

It would be good though if she did take the post, as it would show progression in this series and would keep it fresh. But she'd have to take her entire staff with her.

Why is this show so directionless this season (season 4)? It's almost like they're writing episodes week by week and wondering "what shall it be about this week?"

Ever since Nadine left, it has gone downhill. She had better chemistry with all the staff. Now the staff seem to lack a central figure that brings them all together.

Jay Whitman doesn't fill her shoes well. And this Kat Sandoval character is terrible.

I'll agree with you that the show has gone downhill without Nadine there to run things. Her staff just seems so useless now and I've still yet to see what Kat's character actually brings to the table since she's really not done a single noteworthy thing. I think having Henry no longer working for the CIA and back teaching also takes away some potential exciting storylines.

Yeah Henry has nothing to do now. The whole show seems just like a bunch of conversations and stuff that happens. It would be like going to work and filming the mundane things that happen at your office. There is nothing at the moment that makes me want to come back each episode to find out what's going to happen next.

It literally feels like turning up to work each day and wondering what the day is going to be like.
