A TASMANIAN man strangled a woman after she made a derogatory comment about his sexual performance, the Supreme Court in Launceston was told today.
Keith Jamie Lynch-Whitton, 28, of West Moonah pleaded guilty to murdering Karmehn Sabina Schrader, 41, of Canberra after they had sex at a hotel in Hobart on September 19, 2006.
The court was told Ms Schrader went to Hobart for work and met Lynch-Whitton at the Welcome Stranger Hotel.
About 3am they went to the Mercure where Ms Schrader was staying.
They had sex but Lynch-Witton became enraged when afterwards, Ms Schrader "made derogatory comments about his performance", crown prosecutor Daryl Coates said.
"He placed an arm around her neck in a headlock with considerable force for a considerable period of time," Mr Coates said.
He had wanted to put her to sleep rather than kill her.
The case continues.
