1) Spider-man- no question about it! He's Marvel's flagship! The numbers speak for themselves.
2) Captain America- even though he hasn't seen the big screen, he's Marvel's Superman and even though he's popular the world really has yet to see him!
3) Wolverine- Marvel's exposure of him and books and movies has made him a household name....and BO draw.
4) Iron-Man- his movie is just the beginning....and he's passed the Hulk in public awareness.
5) Hulk- even though his movies haven't done TO great, he's still very popular and is a great merchandise seller.

6) X-men- I'm counting Wolverine as separate because as you know, Marvel tends to put him on every team imaginable and he's seems to have surpassed his team and made it on his on. But still as a franchise, these guys are gold!
7) Fantastic Four- these guys couldve been greater than what they were but they still are very recognizable and household names now.
8) Black Panther- argubly the most famous black superhero but one that hasn't got the exposure he should but you kind of get the feeling that he will explode when the time is right.
9) Silver Surfer- he argubly carried the Fantastic Four sequel and has had his own solo cartoon with a movie in the works......break out potential soon?
10) Blade- how can a d-list character who doesn't have his own ongoing comic be in Marvel's top 10? I don't know but its a mystery that's proven to be hard to disprove.

Honorable mentions: Daredevil who's so underrated, Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange, Moon Knight.........Ant-man.

6) X-men- I'm counting Wolverine as separate because as you know, Marvel tends to put him on every team imaginable and he's seems to have surpassed his team and made it on his on. But still as a franchise, these guys are gold!

I will tell you why Blade is a top ten Character. Wesley Snipes brought more to the role than most people suspected. If it wasn't for Wesley Snipes playing this Character people like Robert Downey Jr. and others were not taking the comic book role as serious.

I think Luke Cage might do better than Black Panther.

I don't think so. Luke Cage is doing good NOW but overall BP seems to have a better name with more people. Luke Cage may come off stereotypical. Don't get me wrong, it has the potential to be great but I think with BP getting his own toon first will keep him ahead of Cage....more exposure.

Top Franchises of all time
Spider-man
X-Men
soon to be Iron Man

Real Potentials
Avengers
Silver Surfer

The Silver Surfer could not hold his own franchise. The second Fantastic Four movie was considered an under performer and his name was in the title...and people didnt go to see it because of Surfer, they went because it was a sequel to a movie they saw.

And The Punisher...if done right...and it probably never will be...could be an awesome franchise.

So you agree with my list?! :csad:

Well if I were to list them

1) Spiderman-has to be but i want a restart after seeing how good IM came out I cry foul and want a proper Spiderman
2) Captain America- He is our Superman and it will be huge
3) Ironman-Was so good can't wait for 2
4) Avengers-What's better than one hero...lots
5) Xmen- Again I want a reboot with the original team (i know it's never going to happen)
6) Hulk-You can't deny his power
7) Thor-if it's ever done right will be fantastic
8) Fantastic Four-was good but could be better
9) Daredevil-needs to be redoneDaredevil-needs to be redone
10) Dr. Strange

Wishes

MoonKnight
Spidergirl from the MC2 universe
Runaways
Darkhawk
etc...

You can't count Wolverine as part of the Xmen! That's like counting Michael Jackson as part of the Jacksons! :cmad: I didn't think to count the Avengers as a team cuase.......don't know why......but they are gold! Agreed about the Punisher. If done right, he can be gold! But for some reason, Lionsgate seems obscessed with making him pg-13. Punisher.........pg-13.................that's ..........just not right.

Listen, Wolverine IS part of the X-Men. Before 1976 he was a nothing one timer from Hulk paling to Wendingo. It wasn't till Byrne, co-writing with Claremont that Login's popularity took off basically by ripping off Clint Eastwood characters. He, Wolverine, was so obscure nobody bothered to give him a history. That part was latter used to make him more mysterious.

I guess my point to you is lets wait till the movie comes out. Just remember Fox's track record on anything Un-Singer before you start thinking TDK.

Never compared Wolverine to TDK. What I said was is Wolverine has outdone himself as an Xman and made it up there in popularity in the upper tier with the big names of heroes. If you can't acknowledge that, then your hate for Wolverine has blinded you. I'm not the biggest Logan fan but even I've got to admit he's up there. Plus it doesn't happen how good he was in the 70s...look at where he is now.

I disagree.. RDJ's one stipulation in his contract was to be given a private office and a stack of Iron Man comics so he could study up on the character.

I think he was VERY serious about the role.

My hate for Wolverine? Were do you figure that from? You said he doesn't belong in any new X-Men movies. I disagree.

Speaking about loathing though, I must admit Venom fits the bill for me. Glad he wasn't on your list:up:

I never said Wolverine shouldn't be on the Xmen. I said his popularity has exceeded them so he shouldn't be counted on a team.......meaning he should still be an Xman but he's so popular, it'd be foolish not to let him have his own franchise.

Why did Marvel stop using Darkhawk anyway? Honestly, I think he's better for a tv show than a movie. Truth is, he's more c or d list than he is a top character. If used properly, he can have rise similiar to Luke Cage, who was a c-lister but has moved up to almost b-list.

1. Spider-Man
2. Cap
3. X-Men
4. Iron Man
5. Avengers
6. Punisher - if he was done with someone passionate about it and Marvel had complete control. Lexi has passion for it but Lionsgate blows.
7. Wolverine
8. Hulk
9. FF - Don't like the series but it's popular
10. Tie between Luke Cage and Black Panther.

You put the Punisher above Wolverine and Hulk as a better franchise?! I know you have to be a die hard Punisher fan but no way is he a better franchise than those two........heck even the Fantastic Four are better franchises.

Rumor was Quesada hates the character. Why? IDK. He has been used fairly recently though, he was in The Loners mini-series that ended earlier this year. Never did get around to reading that...

He's not a top character, but I think a film for him could be a sleeper hit like Blade was.

If he did get a TV show, it'd need a pretty good budget to do the costume/effects right.

You know what's funny is that Wolverine is my favorite character but I just think Punisher could be the TDK like series for Marvel. It was close for me to put them together. I'd rather see a Wolverine movie but the Punisher has something special about revenge and could be taken more seriously and done more realistically like TDK.

The thread says (or potential) so thats how I judged it.

As for putting him above the Hulk, I just think there aren't many places you can go with the Hulk. In the long run he just beats the crap out of everybody and deals with controlling himself over and over. It would be hard to have that theme in each movie. Just look how outlandish the Hulk's comic book had gotten. It became so rediculous, in my opinion.

As for FF...I think the characters are too main stream straight edge good guys. The movies were the most boring of Marvel's thus far and besides Dr. Doom...I don't care for the characters.

I knew people would disagree with my 1 through 10 but that's how I see it as movie potential.

Trust me though, I would take a Wolverine franchise/X-Men franchise over any of them.

JoeyQ is a puts and this^ proves it. It would definately be a blade type film MoonKnight would be the same thing. It wouldn't work as a TV show the budget would be ridiculous.
