Marvel x DC - Costume Craziness!

This is a thread I've wanted to create for a while now. Basically I'll post pics of a character in 2 different costumes he/she has worn, and everyone vote on which costume they liked the character in more.
With Marvel and DC both loving constantly switching up characters' costumes we should have TONS of options.

P.s. I did get it approved including DC in this thread btw. If memory serves it was Corps that okayed it

Black Costume. With the right artists, that thing looks flippin' sweet on the page. I loved the era when Spidey would be classic in daylight and black at night.

Superman is a bit harder to choose. With the New 52, I like that they finally got away from the shorts. Around the 90s their contribution to superhero costumes began to diminish in whatever coolness they used to bring. As Superheroes got more realistic, having someone run around in trunks, forget spandex, just got sillier. On the other hand, the little flourishes in the costume I do not like. Overall, it looks too much like armor for someone who's invincible. The extra-long sleeves I couldn't understand when they first tried it in the post-Returns comics and I still don't. The neckline also bugs me. It's just the little things that keep it from being a GREAT new look. With that in mind, outdated as it is, I'm going with classic Supes.

Hmm I think I'll go with Spider-Man in the black costume and Superman in the new one.

Going to say classic for both.

While I like the black Spiderman costume visually, it's always seemed too dark and menacing an image for a character that--given my limited experience of him--hasn't generally been 'heavy' in that way. For me it loses the exuberance and playfulness of the classic red and blue Spidey.

The Superman costume is harder to choose. While I don't mind elements in the new costume like the higher collar and extended sleeves--though I do find the latter kind of dumb--it's actually the belt that kills it for me. The way the thing is drawn, the effect I get is that he's still wearing the trunks, it's just that now they're blue, and the belt he doesn't need now sticks out like a sore thumb. So, while I'm not crazy about the classic red trunks look either, I end up preferring it to the new version.

I find it hard to choose between Spider-Man's classic costume and the black costume, but since I have am asked to choose, I'll go with the classic red-and-blue. It manages to say both "Spider-Man" without being really scary or menacing thanks to the ingenious method of using webs for spider imagery rather than spiders themselves.

For Superman, the classic suit. The new suit is too armored for my tastes, which is more so Batman's territory, and the collar doesn't feel like Superman to me.

Personally, I'm torn between black costume and classic... gonna go classic I guess, but I like when they switch between the 2 (eg when he was out for revenge in back in black).

As for supes, new costume all the way. Yeah, I got a couple issues with it too, but no undies on the outside is an update that should've been done a LONG time ago.

My plan/hope is to post a new round every morning. I'm a little off schedule so anyone who comes into the thread new feel free to keep voting on these rounds for a bit and I'll update the tally. But for now...

Classic by far. I hate this new thing where everyone's tripping over themselves to sexualize Harley to the nth degree. Her classic costume was sexy enough without overdoing it. I blame Rocksteady.

I like the current version. I was never big on the shoulder pads being pointy. The boots were something a stripper would wear not a Russian ass kicker. Honestly I prefer anything above a Juggernaut helmet.

Current for me. I'm not a fan of the big V in the middle of it, but otherwise it's a good update that eliminates all of the irritatingly odd, outdated problems with the classic one, which include those pointy shoulder pads and his lack of pants (even though he was drawn with blue pants when he wasn't armored, for some reason).
