Mask of the Phantasm is and always will be the best Batman movie of all time.

Aww hell. This is gonna cause problems. :p

Jeez. They both have their merits. TDK showed the chaotic yet planning side that enjoyed destruction for the sake of it. BTAS showed the goofy yet vicious side that made plans for the fun of it.

I vote BTAS because I love how they portrayed him, we got years of him doing it, Mark Hamill voiced him and it was part of my childhood.

That and it gave us this years later.

Hamil is a great "classic" take on the Joker and has decades of work under his belt but ultimately I think Ledger's performance is just a more memorable portrayal.

I loved Mark on Batman the animated series and this is a real hard one,but there will come another animated Batman series with someone to 'VOICE' the Joker and Mark will be pushed aside!... but from now on any Movie Joker will have to contend with heath's 'PERFORMANCE" and i believe his will be the measuring rod Soooooo..
HEATH!!
I am sorry and this is from someone who aint a batboy, but that ^&*was that GOOD!

DCAU Joker, no contest. That's not a slight at Ledger's performance, either. It's just that nothing really contends with Hamill's, in my opinion.

That don't make him way above Mark effin' Hamil. :o

While I love both, I think Heath's Joker is a thing of legend.

I'll vote for Cesar Romero. He was the first who portrayed the Joker & his laughter & cackle were just legendary.

Animated. Ledger's Joker was good, but he was necessarily limited by his format. He could only ever embody one thing, and Nolan went with anarchy. Perfectly valid interpretation, and it worked well in the context of the movie. But Timm, Dini, et al. had a much larger canvas to work on with the animated Joker, so he more closely reflects the comics' ambiguous, ever-changing nutjob. Granted, I still wish we could've seen an animated version of something like Gotham Central's "Soft Targets," where the Joker literally just shows up on a rooftop with a sniper rifle and picks off random people and then disappears again for no discernible reason whatsoever, but that's a pipe dream for another day, I guess.

I'll go with DCAU. But **** me, I loved Ledger's Joker. So perfect for those films.

Heath version is great for that one movie
DCAU version was scary in Return of the Joker, and he was consistently good throughout the run of that line

I vote for Mark Hamill's voiced Joker

Heath Ledger. DCAU Joker would be menacing and awesome one episode, then a complete buffoon the next.

Examples of awesome Joker
"Wild Cards"
"World's Finest"
"Mad Love"

Examples of buffoonish Joker
"Joker's Favor"
"The Last Laugh"
"Be a Clown"

DC Round - Round 2053
Jack Nicholson's Joker x Michael Keaton's Batman

Keaton's Batman!
while not the best batty guy. "Jack Napier" irked me and plus that dude would have had a heart attack chasing you to spray you with joker gas the shape he was in! hahaha

The only good thing about Keatons Batman was that they actually made a Batman film.

Jack's Joker!
