I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested if, hypothetically, DC were to put out a limited 17 issue series of Superman comics, with each issue representing one of the Fleischer cartoons.

Would you buy it?

They could expand upon each toon and add new scenes, subplots etc. Or they could even transpose established Superman continuity with the cartoon plots for a series of comics. Just an idea. I would buy every issue and every collection of these stories if this were to happen.

What do you guys think?

I don't know if they'd necessarily need to adapt installments of the cartoon into the comic with added scenes and whatnot, but I'd certainly be up for a Fleischer Superman comic that features new adventures in that style and occasionally adapts various elements, characters, etc. from the mainline comics continuity, akin to what BATMAN '66 has been doing.

I'd love that. Also the Fleischer Superman suit design's my favorite Superman suit design ever.

I like that idea a lot, Jochimus.

Would rather get new stories in that style, preferably more cartoon shorts, would be cool to have them run in the theaters before each new DC movie.

I wouldn't read it.
The only thing that show has going for it is the amazing animation, and maybe a bit of influence it gave to the comics like Superman's flight and X-Ray vision (I think).
Beside that, the characters are flat and uninteresting in that cartoon.
