I'm not talking about Survivor, Hype Idol or games of that nature.

I badmouth the Lounges but is there anything useful that can be learned from these threads?

And if you are taking entertainment from figuring out 5 letters into a sentence maybe you should reevaluate your priorities.

Or just tell me the truth, is it just a way to boost your post count?

oh noes the secret is out :o

They are inane, needless post count boosting threads for those who have nothing to say.

The Lounge is great, it's a place to get to know people more and I've made good friends there. I don't go there to boost my post count because it's not like I'm going to unlock a magical secret of the hype by having a really high post count.

I do find it unnecessary to have multiple lounges for example-in the batman section.

The community is the only place a lounge should be as it's a place of opinions and a place to getting to know people more.

Well yeah, I mean I like to know the second somebody is going to get something to eat or work because I'd be refreshing that page wondering where said person went. :whatever:

However, as much as I do ridicule the Lounge, at least yes, you can find out things past most of the, "Hi!", "Hi!", "How are you?" "I'm fine." "Well, I'm going out to lunch now." inane babble, unlike the gaming threads.

You might find them useless as i find yours useless but some of us are shy and would much rather communicate through a game then constantly making threads and trying to get constant attention with silly, stupid needless discussion threads. It is nice there is something for all of us and we really don't even have to be in contact with each other. I agree many do get their post count up that way but then many have gotten theirs up by making silly discussion threads. I myself would love to have no post counts clear across the boards or just in the games but then wouldn't everyone panic without them?

Hence the reason I never say hi or bye. It's a waste of typing time.

What can you find out about a person who can turn

AFGHT

into a 5 word sentence?

But a lot of your compatriots do, which is pretty silly.

Okay, I'm off to lunch now, but I have to keep refreshing to see who says bye, so I can say bye.

Dude, just leave.

So what are some of your favorite ones?

What are you listening to is a classic but I wouldn't know now, all I do is post in the TF boards and they are untainted there.

That said it's pretty obvious why they do it, if we delve into the human mind we see an infatuation of wanting big things in life like a car, tv, breasts and such, now to achieve this they need to work hard for it although unfortunatly there are some that cheat to get what they want faster so they take short cuts. It's a masculinity void perhaps.

Some do, some don't. If people are posting about why they are going off, it's due to politeness, no point of being in a middle of a conversation and just leaving.

You tend to knock things that you don't like, pretty much like saying that because Erzengel doesn't like something, it must be law. I don't see you making any attempts to try the things you knock, just to see if you like them or not.

I challenge you to try those threads for one whole week. Continuously posting in conversation with someone intelligent in those threads, e.g. Sensi, Spideyville, borax or myself. Then using the means provided based on the thread you choose, carry out a fully fledged conversation with that person. I don't mean just once a day either. I want you to constantly post in the threads without using baby words and see how you fare then.

If you want to slam them after that then that's up to you. Bring the conversation using 5 letters or via song lyrics or even the movie banter... it takes time and effort to do these things right.

I'd love to see you try.

Just remember the main points... someone intelligent, constantly posting, carry out a conversation. If you pick someone who just wants to ******** in the threads then it's not even worth it.

They're pieces of **** reserved for anti-social neophytes who can't carry out real conversations or discuss anything. It's amazing how many people post exclusively in those threads and never venture outside of them to discuss anything like if you've gotten used to your own fart. I mean, we're not changing the world here, but at least we're being somewhat social, demented and sad, but social.

I honestly never understood why people post thousands of times in a day to have a post count of 10,000 within a month of joining a message board. I have been here for almost 5 years, posting that is, and I'm just about at 10,000. I've seen threads on people whining about losing post counts.

Can people who obsess on high post counts explain to me this obsession?

It's a Breakfast Club kind of day. This is the 3rd post where that movie has been referenced...haha

I love it.

Well, I guess I can tell everyone I'm eating spaghetti today and tomorrow, I'm hoping for a Wendy's Salad.

Where's the full fledged conversation in the 5 letter game or the 3 word story?

And I've done a "game" thread, and I think I did 21 posts out of the 5,611 posts and that's something I created.

Hmm... surely it can't be as bad as hundreds of pages devoted to Tom Welling as Superman manips.

I'm sorry. I just can't help insulting the Smallville boards when I get a chance.

I have one of the highest post counts here but it's never been because of Lounges, or Game threads. Somoene posted something and I responded. I stand behind every post I've made. :o
