Why didn't they have it that he managed to stay alive for over 900 years?

Methuselah lived 969 years. If it were only 400 years, they wouldn't even have to start thinking of calling him Methuselah yet, because there were a number of other Old Testament characters who lived longer than that. Over 400 years is only half of Methuselah's lifespan.

Jordan and re-develop Methusaleh as a star vehicle for the Creed II to play a man who has managed to stay alive for over 400 years. Jordan’s Outlier Society has joined as producers Heyday’s David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford.
