Mexico design underground skyscraper

Why not? Would it be impossible to design an elevator that moves diagonally?

It wouldn't be impossible. It just sounds unnecessary. It'll make an already complicated design even more complicated. It'd be simpler to either build a series of elevators and platforms in the middle (I mean, it's not like they were going to get that much natural sunlight to begin with) or just make the building rectangular so they can keep the void in the middle and put the elevators along the sides.

You guys have never been to Mexico City. This is one of the largest cities in the world. It's heavily densely populated and they lack space. You can't go up in Mexico City since most of the buildings are old.

From my perspective, I don't worry much about the seismic activity as much as I worry about all of the aztec remains in the city. Especially since in the historic center. Spain razed the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan and built what is now Mexico City.

This building could permanently seal off the possibility of ever discovering the Major temple below the Cathedral.
