MGM is in negotiations to acquire the 'Airplane!-esque' $25 million disaster film spoof "2012-ish: The Day the Earth Bent Over" reports Screen Daily.

The story follows a young scientist who fights to save the planet from a number of catastrophes that threaten mankind not to mention a bumbling president and a manic depressive NASA commander.

Robert Moniot directs the feature he co-wrote with Travis Oates. Shooting gets underway in Louisiana in March.

But are 2 of the 6 writers of Scary Movie involved? That's what I'd like to know.

They're not writers.

They just go down to their local rental store covered in double sided sticky tape, roll around in the dvds then take the p*** out of whatever is stuck to them.

MGM sucks now

They're doing this, AND remaking Red Dawn and Robocop. What's the matter with them?

The better question is, why does a spoof movie need 25 million dollars?
