Fox = Deadpool. Lets be honest, Michael Bay's gift for low brow humor and over-the-top action is perfect to launch a Deadpool franchise.

Sony = Venom. If Sony wants to go more the direction of campy yet entertaining, Michael Bay could deliver a very intimidating Venom. Michael Bay goes big and Venom would be a huge, menacing, beautiful CGI monster.

Marvel Studios = Great Lakes Avengers. Let that set in. The property is unknown enough to not be taken to seriously by fans or the general audience. Plus the GLA has a very oddball cast that could benefit from Michael Bays unique gift for re imagining characters .

I honestly think studios should take advantage of Bays ability to take obscure properties and make them pure entertainment.

I have not liked his take on the Transformers franchise. Did not even bother to see T4 in the theater. Personally I hope he and Marvel Studios never partner up.

I could see him doing Venom, I can't see him pooling off Deadpool, which has a very unique meta humor that isn't Bay's specialty. It's closer to something written by Charlie Kaufman and directed by Robert Rodriguez than anything Bay's done. Or I could see Quentin Tarantino.

Now that I just said that, I'm going to seem like I'm completely contradicting myself. To me, Michael Bay would be best with a character created by Rob Liefeld. However, a character other than Deadpool (who has evolved well beyond Liefeld's creation). Somebody like Shatterstar (Fox probably has the rights) or the team Youngblood (Image Comics, I think, so I doubt anyone has the rights).

Or maybe I'm thinking things I dislike should be lumped together so I don't have to risk seeing either one.

There should be an international law that forbids Bay to make movies. It should be in the Human Rights Charta.
A huge NO to Bay anywhere ear the MCU.

Hmmmm...

A Michael Bay Hulk/Planet Hulk movie would give a lot of people what they want, though it'd be a waste of Ruffalo. He'd also do a heckuva Ghost Rider. He needs a monster, the more soulless the better.

Michael Bay is not a good director. Michael Bay is not even a good action director. His action is completely incoherent and impossible to follow.

There is a difference between a Good Stupid Action Movie and a Bad Stupid Action Movie. Michael Bay hasn't made the first kind since The Rock.

One of the best characteristics of the MCU has been its characters, and Michael Bay as a director is antithetical to characters. The foundations of all his films are chaos and noise. That's it.

If we want to bring a really great action director, we shouldn't be talking about Bay. We should be talking about guys like Gareth Evans and Justin Lin.

N/A

Eh, more of I like movies he produces more than I like movies he directs.

Yeah, that does make sense. I was just pointing out the whole TMNT thing. The movie is apparently terrible and everyone's blaming Bay instead of the people who actually wrote and directed it, lol.

Eh, with the turtles movie, I honestly do blame Bay. He may have had Liebsman direct, but it was pretty distinctly Bay's movie.

It's the same with Nightmare Before Christmas; yeah it was directed by Selick but it was really Tim Burton's baby.

He should do nothing of the sort but he's popular and if Marvel had to hire him, I'd have him do Damage Control where his name attached to an obscure property could sell it and the Avengers would never be seen on screen, just the damage they do and some far away GCI shots while massive super battles cause gigantic explosions and it's up to a group of construction workers to evacuate any civilians that the Avengers can't while seeing what buildings they can salvage.

If he were ever put in charge of Deadpool or X-Force, I'd want the X-Men rights to return to Marvel. If he were put in charge of Venom, I'd want the rights to return to Marvel. If he joined the MCU to do West Coast Avengers, I'd hate him forever for ruining War Machine, Iron Man, Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch for me. So no, he should NOT EVER touch any other Marvel property but Damage Control.

Just realized I said the wrong avengers. I meant Great Lakes Avengers. I don't want Bay near any project that relies on great storytelling. But Deadpool is not a comic about great storytelling.... for the most part. And if Venom can't get a great director who could really create an emotional character I'd take a Bay film that would simply play on Venom's Baddassness.

In fact I'd like Bay to direct a Lobo film. If someone could tone Bay down just a smidgen and have him remain a little more true to the source material he'd work for any obscure or dificult to put on screen property.

When have the Great Lakes Avengers been the type to cause extreme damage to anywhere? They, along with Deadpool are focused on quirky characters more than action. Neither of those franchises would work as two hours of pure action.

And my worry with Kurtzman writing and directing Venom is that he's going to settle for goofy slapstick humor and excessive violence at the expense of making a good movie, I don't need him teaming up with Bay to make his flaws even worse.

Agreed.

He's good at taking things with sentimental value and making them big, loud and empty.

None, not even Hulk. Michael Bay should just go on and do Rambo V.

I disagree, Deadpool is for the likes of James Gunn or pre-lord of the rings Peter Jackson, low brow and crude humor isn't enough, i'm sorry but that's like saying a comedy franchise like Seinfeld could be given to Adam Sandler just because he does "funny films"

I think we're taking alot away from Bay. The guy did make Bad Boys 1 and 2, Pain and Gain, and The Island. He can make an engaging movie. I just feel his knack for visuals and his ability to make the irrelevant relevant could benefit some properties. I think Transfomers have created a fanboy mob mentality that is not entirely warranted.

it's like cooty_cat wants to make the worst impression ever
