Plot Summary: Michael Clayton (George Clooney) is an in-house "fixer" at one of the largest corporate law firms in New York. A former criminal prosecutor, Clayton takes care of Kenner, Bach & Ledeen's dirtiest work at the behest of the firm's co-founder Marty Bach (Sydney Pollack). Though burned out and hardly content with his job as a fixer, his divorce, a failed business venture and mounting debt have left Clayton inextricably tied to the firm. At U/North, meanwhile, the career of litigator Karen Crowder (Tilda Swinton) rests on the multi-million dollar settlement of a class action suit that Clayton's firm is leading to a seemingly successful conclusion. But when Kenner Bach's brilliant and guilt-ridden attorney Arthur Edens (Tom Wilkinson) sabotages the U/North case, Clayton faces the biggest challenge of his career and his life.

Sounds tragic,I wonder if Gray is playing the ex-wife.
It'll be good to see her back up and about.

So did anybody go see this?

I enjoyed it. It's not groundbreaking and it's not action packed but still a good film.

I saw this, I didn't like it.It doesn't deserve the attention it's getting.

It's getting attention? The theatre was damn near empty when I went...

So far, this is the best reviewed film of the Fall, and possibly the year.
Perhaps it may get an Oscar nomination? Because of the critical reception, I'll be seeing this sooner or later, since originally, I had 0% interest in the film (even if it was George Clooney!).

:o

That's so sad.... It's such a f**king awesome movie. I have to call it that cause it goes beyond me just saying "great" it goes to that level... Honestly, really damn good, I loved it. This is definitely a contender for my favorite movie of the year. Seen it twice and it was way better the second time, too!

What did you guys think of the ending? I thought it was absolutely brilliant and exhilarating... His explosive attack on the lady then backing away then that cab ride with James Newton Howards's score.... AWESOME! :wow:

Looks like I'll get a chance to see this. They're rereleasing it.

That's good. Just like The Departed, I'll try to catch the re-release.

I'll check this one out when the DVD hits. Clooney and Wilkinson are fine actors.

When does Clooney's contract with the Devil end? I heard he signed it right after Facts of Life.

Awesome movie. Absolutely superbly written and well-acted. I was lucky enough to see it in theatres on the first go-around.

You haven't lived until you've heard Tom Wilkinson rant about
two young Lithuanian mouths on his cock.

I really do want to see this film. I cant wait till the DVD comes out.

I saw this back in October and must say it was merely "good". It wasn't brilliant. It didn't exceed any standards really. It had good acting. Good writing. And good direction. The fact that it is being heralded as one of the best films of the year is truly a sad commentary on the state of filmmaking these days.

I didn't like this movie at all. For some reason it was not able to keep me interested. I kind of felt like saying "so what?" at the end of it. I might see it again, sometimes movies are better the second time around. All I know is that it better not beat There Will Be Blood or No Country For Old Men.

While watching this movie, I found myself thinking, "Meh. This is okay. Wish it would pick up a little...". Afterwards, though, I was like, "Whoa."

It was really good.

This movie made my top ten list. I loved it.

A rich film that delivers complex characterization along with an intelligent plot. Every character is believable and remarkably fascinating. You know they delivered an amazing movie when you find yourself still in your seat,
absorbing the film and gazing at George Clooney doing nothing but ride in a cab as they roll the closing credits.

Haven't heard about this project before the announcement of Oscar nominations. All i can say is I am interested in seeing this film.

Tony Gilroy is already in pre-production of his new movie, Duplicity, with Clive Owen, Julia Roberts and in minor roles Tom Wilkinson and Billy Bob Thornton.
It's set in the world of industrial spies and it will have a lighter tone than Michael Clayton.
