Rumors have swirled since Netflix's CEO joined Microsoft's board last year

Will Microsoft offer Netflix movies over Xbox Live?

Bloggers and reporters have been buzzing about the possibility of a partnership for almost a year, ever since Netflix CEO Reed Hastings joined Microsoft’s board of directors last March. But there have been other hints that the two were inching toward a more formal marriage.

This would make me drop my blockbuster online subscription in a heartbeat.

For all i know, the PS3 will have it too.

But, why does MS needs it, they have video marketplace?

In the article it explains that the video marketplace doesn't have all that many accessible movies plus studio support like Netflix does. Plus I'm sure Netflix is looking for another way to reel in subscribers, so.. why not hit a base with more then 10+ million potential subscribers. Same can be said for Microsoft, Netflix has 7+ subscribers and they can be potential XBOX 360 and XBOX Live consumers.

The article didn't mention anything about ps3 but... who knows.

And twice as many give out bull****.

No thanks.. Blockbuster's disks get here where I live much faster then Netflix.

Their shipping warehouse must be closer or something.. but nothing beats digital downloads being played right on your home system.

So come on Netflix.. if you want my $$$ make the hookup happen! :woot:

so when is this supposed to go into effect?
