I realize I'm probably the only one who cares about the Wonder Boy/Monster World/Adventure Island series here, but a spiritual successor was recently announced called Monster Boy. It's being made with the help of the creator of the original series creator Ryuichi Nishizawa, and it's coming this year to PS4, PC, "and more".
