I was lucky enough to get a code for the Demo from a kind user over at another forum that's for a Monster Hunter resource. I can tell you that this game is going to be so much fun! It's releases next week for the 3DS. I'm so stoked for it.

Oh, I am a Monster Hunter veteran and this game is very different. I have been playing the Demo, which you can get in the Nintendo Shop I believe tomorrow, and all the things they added, new weapons, new mechanics for older weapons, especially the bow, are so much more fun and appealing. Still trying to understand the mechanics of jumping on monster backs, and I may not ever get it. Give the demo a try and if you play online with a habitual bow user there's a high chance that's me.

Oh my God...it's so hard finding good players on the servers. The game is challenging but my God...online is very disappointing. Finding a good room with capable hunters is much more of a challenge.

Can you play this on an old 3DS?

You can, but I can imagine the new stick is very helpful. It is probably helpful for loads between sections of the map.

There is a way to set up you touchpad to have the extra directional joystick on it. That's the setup I use on the 3DS XL I have and it works fine for me. Anyways, I am now Hunter Rank 7. If anyone is interested in hunting with me just let me know and we can exchange friend codes.

Oh my God...the most confusing fight I have ever had was today. There is an urgent monster called Dalamadur in High Rank that opens up another Urgent quest for a monster called Ukanlos. Ukanlos might not be my problem. This Dalamadur is a huge, huge snake creature and it's so big that it's confusing to fight because of how huge it is.

Anyways, protip, unless you have high evasion skills and know how to time your dodges always do a panic dive when you see Dalamadur wind up and do this:

I am totally happy with my latest accomplishment today. This morning I decided that I would make full Seregios armor and I did just that. It took over 20 birds either captured or killed but I was able to get the parts I needed to make the G Rank set. Now comes the hard part and that's upgrading it as much as I can so the Grank monsters don't hurt me too much.
