I hope they were able to create a bunch of new characters, that are actually interesting. In Mortal Kombat 4 and onward, the only new great characters were Kenshi and Quan Chi. With most of the cast killed in MK9, we need new blood.

It just seems like a sure thing already. Boon has been teasing the game and a June 2nd reveal for a while now, Keifer Sutherland did voice work for a new MK game, the Kitana/Mileena voice actress updated her credits with Mortal Kombat 2 and now this poster (which I assume will be available in stores when you pre-order). So... Why wait? Apart from being able to title the thread correctly that is.

I'd like an old Raiden and older Johnny Cage&Sonya,Scorpion&Subs will likely return,rest can be all new.

Should they try Kreate A fighter again?,I think it was Armageddon where we could create our own fighter and play an RPG type of story where we would wonder around villages and train with Bo Racho and interact with characters

I hope most of the characters from the reboot stay dead. Maybe ressurect one or two(Probably Liu and Sub Zero.), but no more. If I remember correctly, Quan Chi, Reptile, Baraka, Scorpion, Raiden, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Sonya, Ermac,Cyrax and Sektor are alive.Add Shinnok as well as Rain, Kenshi and Skarlet and you have a great base of characters to start with and then have the rest be new characters.

I could see it going any number of ways. Any characters that they want to bring back who were killed in the last game can be explained as being thralls of Quan Chi from the Netherrealm (similar to when they were summoned to fight Raiden).

The adventure-style story was from "Deception". The story-mode in Armageddon was closer in style to "Shaolin Monks".

They all(or well most of em) died in the last game. They won't keep them dead tho. You can't release an MK without the likes of Sub Zero, Scorpion, Liu Kang etc.

I still like how it happened. Raiden prevented Johnny Cage's death at the hands of Motaro, and as a result of that, Khan made Sindel his new general, and she ****ed everyone up. I thought it was funny.

I couldnt tell ya specifically, I played the story mode once just to experience it, then focused the rest of my time in MK to thrashing people online.

Sindel was super powered by Shang Tsung's souls, killing him in the process, and then went after Earth's warriors, while Raiden and Liu Kang went to the Elder Gods, asking them to stop Shao Khan's invasion of Earth. So no one was there to protect the earth fighters, as Sindel showed up and beat every single one of them to death.

I don't know how accurate it was, but a while ago the director of the MK Legacy show talked about how this game was going to tie in with that. He was actually the one that outed that there was another MK in development. I wonder if we'll see that actually happen or if he misspoke at the time?

Ironic thing is Johnny Cage is notorious for getting killed in the MK games, yet in MK9, he's one of the few good guys that survives.

98% of MK9 was Raiden making the timeline way worse.

It's worth noting that before he settled on the new MK Dragon logo he started using the Injustice regime logo.

Why is that significant? Well, because BOTH Mortal Kombat & Injustice: Gods Among Us are said to be getting sequels for next gen. Both are also said to be in development As you are aware both games are produced by Netherrealm Studios. And MK/DC have crossed paths before: (Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe and Scorpion is playable in Injustice).

So it begs the question: Are we actually getting an MK vs. DC sequel? The first one was good but not great; but after the outstanding MK9 and Injustice it'd be hard not to get too excited by the prospect!

Or are we in for a new treat altogether as speculated by Mortal Kombat Online? They postulate that Netherrealm may actually be making BOTH MKX and INJ2 and making them crossover compatible for online play. Can you imagine how revolutionary and Marvel Studios-esque that move would be?
