My Generous Proposal (Are you IN or are you OUT?)

Well hello there fellow fans. I want to take another stab at pushing for a Spider-Man 3.1, but I can't do it alone. This thread is to guage interest and brainstorm ideas for an online movement. I don't know if we can succeed in this mission, but I do know that we can't hurt our chances by trying.

Every cause needs supporters, so I'm reaching out to those of you who still frequent this section to join in.



Here's my DB poster, slightly amended from before. Hopefully it will inspire you all lol.

So... things to do. The first and most obvious step is to set up a new online petition. This is probably the most effective way to tally support and put some real numbers behind our request. There's currently one floating around for an extended ASM2, and with mixed reactions to that film, there is a wave of nostalgia for Raimi's series that could work in our favour.

We need a good petition for starters. I've seen too many that reed liek dis.

I guess the target should be Sony themselves. Raimi may or may not be at all interested in the idea, but he doesn't need to be necessarily. We can't assume here that there's a long lost "director's cut", because from everything I've read the one we got was it. That didn't stop 2.1 though, so it can't stop this.

The way I see it, there's basically 3 tiers to this: us on the ground-level, the more influencial blogs/sources that could get us exposure, and then finally the guys at the top would could actually make this happen. To gain momentum we need to get this message up the chain. This requires persistance.

I guess I'll write up something for the petition and post it here before we choose to run with it. Feedback would be appreciated.

What you see before you is a petition calling for an extended cut of the 2007 film Spider-Man 3.

Various sources confirm a great wealth of material that never made it into the theatrical cut of the film and - several years later - we are still eager to see these deleted scenes. As with your previous Spider-Man 2.1 release, we hope to see this footage reinstated into a more complete version of the movie.

Such contagious enthusiasm. It's cool if you don't wanna get involved, but we're all aware that this is a long-shot. Doing something is better than doing nothing though right? What is there to lose?

I don't really care to be honest as I don't think it will make me like SM3 much more and I don't know how much support there would be for a 3.1
But
If it would make some here happy then sure, I'll sign it and I'd support anything Spider-Man related. Again, I personally am not really interested in buying it but I'd still help the cause

3.) We've all got equally nerdy friends right? I think the first target should be people we know directly who would be happy to sign, and even better, spread the word themselves. Make this a game, see who can get the most friends to sign lol.

4.) Other boards, groups, facebook, twitter. Please post any and all actions here. There's probably a ton of place we can spread this. We should brainstorm some places.

I'm not particularly Twitter or Youtube savvy. Anyone else fancy working on those? I know twitter can be a powerful tool, but it's always been confusing to me.
