Couldn’t find a thread for this. Apparently it was announced back in 2020 but Netflix’s 2023 preview has brief scattered looks throughout. Millie Bobby Brown appears to some type of warrior princess.

I’d never heard of it before but it caught my eye. Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo and also starring Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, and Ray Winstone.

Great cast and a fun concept. Millie looks badass in the clips I saw!

Looks good, when I saw the first still I thought it was going to be some sort of survival horror, but it's more like How to kill your Dragon.

looks amazing MBB is awesome in it as always

Okay, that looks better than expected.
Has a good vibe and visuals.
Wasnt sure what to expect after the first still, but that has me positive surprised.

“Ready or Not”, but set in medieval times and with a dragon? Count me in.

"She was exceptional," director Fresnadillo raves, speaking about Brown’s approach to the character and the way she approached the film’s brutality. As for the emotional demands of the tough shoot, "She understood that this needed to be an extreme survival experience. And in order to make that believable, you have to convey suffering and pain.” Certainly, the transition from being a damsel to your own hero won’t be an easy one and with the themes of survival and all the action involved, Brown might have had quite an interesting time while filming. Fresnadillo further elaborated that Damsel is about “transformation. About a girl becoming a woman – and you need to really feel the intensity of it. We didn’t want to cheat any of that, and that’s why we pushed all the limits to make this a huge roller coaster of an experience for the audience."

Looks way better than I was expecting. Nice.

I really like this premise. For some reason, the movie itself kind of reminds me of fantasy movies from the 80s; just the overall vibe of it, which I really like. The cast is great too .

Though that trailer seemed to show almost the entire movie.

That Trailer looks actually quite a lot of fun.
It spoils a ton of the Story it seems, but still...it was a really nice trailer that shows a fun movie.
Didnt expect that, but now im full on board.
Nice.

Yeah I’ll be watching but they showed too much in that trailer I think.

Movie is released tomorrow. But as of now, there's only one review posted on RT. And it's negative. Probably not a good sign.

Not terrible. But I thought there’d be a richer and more expansive mythology. (Perhaps limited series-length would be required for that.) Instead, it was mostly a personal survival story: damsel vs. dragon.

Methinks Brown’s Enola Holmes movies are better.

Just Finished it...it was fine.
Enjoyed it.
There are way too many dragged out scenes i felt and the last half hour suddenly did too much too fast, but Overall it was a nice movie.
Visual neat and millie bobby brown carried the movie easily.
A bit more world building, less dragged out scenes and a less rushed final 30 minutes act, and it would have been more Solid.
Cant say it was Bad or so, but it isnt a must See movie.
The idea of the movie was very neat for Sure.
Could have been better, but also wasnt awful.

Yup this was a netflix movie. Unremarkable but entertaining.

The first half was incredibly boring but it had as strong second half.

I swear i feel like its the same director, cinematographer, editor and composer who does all of these netflix movies because they all just feel the same, know what i mean?

It's middling but has a 90 minute runtime so it doesn't overstay. Story was a bit undercooked and emphasized the action/survival instead. Not a disaster like Rebel Moon or a slog like Spaceman on Netflix but also not in higher tiers.
