It's like asking me would I rather be clawed by a lion or a bitten by a rattlesnake.

Either way, I'm going to be screwed.

I hadn't realized until today that CNN was part of this. Id rather not have that news channel go full on MAGA. :(
Yeah, they weren't sure if Netflix even wanted CNN, but Paramount wants it all.

This is the thing. Even in the 'best case scenario' where Netflix leaves WB alone and let's them release theatrically, the net result of all these mergers is still that there’s less places to sell to. And I think less competition makes the market stale too in the long run.

Big picture, the issue is that tech is becoming too powerful. If you view the movie business as its own thing where it's only studios competing with each other then it's obvious these mergers shouldn't be happening at all. But if viewed through a modern lens of studios as "content factories" competing for eyeballs with YouTube and social media, then you start concluding that the only way to compete with something that massive is consolidation. I'm not saying I agree, but that's how it will be justified.

It's kinda sad to think that two things that everybody enjoyed back in the 00s and early 10s, Netflix and YouTube, are now some of the major forces that are threatening the health of the entertainment industry.

Lose-Lose for everyone either way.
The best outcome would be no sale, but David Zaslav is a greedy bastard so that is not an option.
While Netflix is the slightly less evil, its still evil as heck.

It would endanger theaters and possibly the gaming sector of WB since Netflix cancelled several projects in their gaming sector and doesnt value Gaming high.

We are doomed either way, nothing is fun anymore...the world sucks.
No matter who gets WB.

Obviously the best outcome is no one buys WB and I know Comcast sucks lol but would they have been the better option over Netflix and WB? I would imagine they probably would have still committed to theatrical releases without the Saudi baggage (though I can't imagine they increase the amount of movies released which would suck). But I haven't been keeping up with them so no idea if they also have things equally horrible going on like the others.
