Netflix Western ‘The Harder They Fall“

I’m still really looking forward to this!

By most accounts, it would seem John Campea is, predictably, horribly wrong on an embarrassingly grand scale

IMDB score is 5.3 at the moment so he's definitely not the only one.

This is one of those films where there will be extreme takes on either side because of the subject matter, so best just judge for myself on the actual quality of the film lol

Saw the trailer for this on Netflix and think it looks great, lots of talented actors involved just never heard of the director before.

Percentage rating has gone up to 86% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 78 critics reviews!

Just watched this. I enjoyed it! The scripts a ….bit flimsy but this director has a TON of style and attitude which kept me engaged. It felt very Tarantino/Django inspired which is a good thing.

I dont know what Campea found so horrible about this movie. You can pick apart the script but the movie just has so much style and pazzaz that you dont really care. Is it a movie i’ll necessarily be thinking about a week from now? No. But its a fun Western B movie with a great cast.

Probably because it's a Netflix movie and he finds 98% of them awful. I don't know what he thinks about The Irishman, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Mank, Dolemite is My Name, The Marriage Story or ROMA but he did say he enjoyed the Old Guard.

I mean, lets call a spade a spade here: Netflix has become the official B movie depot. The vast majority of their movies are probably not the type you’d pay premium ticket price for in a movie theater. But a lot of them are kind of trashy, disposable guilty pleasure B flicks but thays OK in my opinion as long as theyve got entertaining qualityies to them.

The Harder They Fall is not by ANY means grand art, its a fun, well directed Western flick to watch on a Friday night.

Funny coming from the same guy who likes Batman V Superman :whatever: I haven't seen the movie yet, but every now and then he has a take I really disagree with.

I actually had a really good time with this, but my biggest problem with it is definitely the pacing. Great performances all around though and its incredibly well directed. I honestly want to see Johnathan Majors, Zazie Beetz, LaKeith Stanfield, Regina King and Idris Elba in more westerns after this.

I'd also be down for any future sequels or even a Netflix series if it happens at some point just because I enjoyed spending so much time with these characters and in this world.

I very much enjoyed this. Great performances and I really liked the style once I got used to it. I'd like to see Lakeith in more villainous roles.

This beyond overrated. Boring overall but interesting cinematography and style choices. Big win for cinematography and some performances but dis is just not da the film that is so special. 6 on 9.5 is a fairest score

Watched this tonight and LOVED it. Great characters, lots of style and a shootout as good as the finale in Silverado. My only complaint is that it wasn’t longer so I could spend more time with these Old West legends. I hope they make a sequel.

I really enjoyed this. Fun movie with great performances.

This had all the elements to be something really good, but it needed a writer and director like Tarantino.

Id give it a 5/10.

The soundtrack was great tho. So thats something at least.

And Buck's golden revolvers were pure porn. Love to have those.
