New info on Ninja Gaiden 2 in december EGM.

The combat is not way better, it's boring, and NG2 looks pretty so so compared to DMC4. Plus Devil May Cry 4 looks like its going actually step up in the story department. :huh:

You must be completely dead inside if you think the combat in Ninja Gaiden is boring. Maybe they just screwed up the ps3 version :csad:

What are we basing this off of exactly? So far two things have boggled my mind in this thread, the first being someone thinking Gears of Wars is better than HL2 and the second being DMC is better than Ninja Gaiden. Both of you have some problems with taste. I'm a fan of Gears, but its in no way better than Half Life 2.
Gears of War was a blast all the way through, unfortunately for Half-Life 2, it didn't get good until the last hour.

Oddly enough, that last hour was still 3 times the length of Gears of War, which means HL2 still delivered way more entertainment.

Ninja Gaiden's combat system can't hold up to the exacting standards of Heavenly Sword's combat system...

LOL

Unfortunately it's just listening to Doctor Whoev-ner talk a lot and then you "ball juggle" until the last anticlimactic boss fight.

There, I just stole the credit back I gave to HL2's ending.

No it doesn't. By HL2, you realize that I mean Half Life 2, right? You don't start using those energy balls for anything other than optional weapons until Episode One, which is an entirely different game :confused:

Dude, you need to play the last Chapter of Half-Life 2 again. You use those balls for everything. They're how you beat the game!

Yes, "weapons", you aren't juggling anything, and you only use them for the very, very, very last portion.

We tried to grief them by banning every possible variant of the word "Hugsies" but Stephen, softy he is, let them have it back.

At least they're not even using it now.

Apparently there's a bunch of new Ninja Gaiden screens and they look awesome. Much better than the previous pics shown.

As far as info goes...

* Coming Spring 2008.
* Real world environments, Tokyo, Times Square, Venice
* Obliteration techniques. After removing a limb, press Y, the camera zooms in and Ryu goes ape**** with whatever weapons he's holding. What exactly happens depends on what weapon you're using and what part of the body you removed prior.
* Removed limbs stay on screen
* There's a rival super ninja who's supposed to "look badass" according to Itagaki
* Enemies have cooperative attacks
* No plans for multiplayer

Itagaki really needs to have Hayate in Ninja Gaiden 2 in some form or another. I think it'll be great for him to be backing Ryu instead of Ayane.
