Blues is my favourite type of music, i thought I'd dedicate a thread to it, and hopefully spread the love for blues with recomendations and stuff, and maybe get some recommendations myself! Voice your love for blues artists here. List your fav artists, hopefully we can extend each other's music library's and stuff.

I play the same Hubert Sumlin lick in every blues solo I ever do because it's so wicked.
I also thought Clarence Gatemouth Brown was weird. On this one song he popped the wedding march in there for no reason.

lol, rather random indeed. I like the way blues music can take the same original rift/beat over and over again, yet change and remaster it, truly music of the highest calliber, the love and inprovised stuff, gorjus! I'm a harmonica player, and almost all my stuff is improvised off of basic rifts, it's such a great music genre!

Try the above people, Byther smith is pretty powerful and emmotional, luther johnson also. Sunnyland slim too in fact! Hell, jus download it all!

A really good blues compilation is 'nothing but the blues' which is a four disc compilation for about £5, got a really good mix. Prob the best blues compilation I've found.

thanks man. im also going to listen to BB king. i have'nt listened to his stuff yet, i heard some songs here and there. but not in depth ya know.

Good choice, not my fav, but still an amazing artist, up there with the likes of bo didley.
