I had a Lexus ES350 till last November when a drunk driver ran a light and crashed into me totaling my car and sending me, my sister and my 3 month old niece to the hospital (and I'm still getting twice weekly shots in the neck).

Now I'm driving a Saturn Ion I got used. Yeah, I went from a brand new $60,000 car to a crap American car for $11,000. Talk about a come down. But I'm buying a BMW next month. I f-ing hate cheap cars.

Some of you know I was a car salesman at one time. Here are some pics of demos that I was allowed to drive as a perk of being good at what I did...

Hey, you seem like a nice guy with some money to blow, can you co-sign on a car for me? How about you take care of the down payment and I'll be your private consultant in Lean? :p

This could be a concept look at the next gen. Chevy Monte Carlo when it goes back rear wheel drive. It's going on the camaro platform. Kind of reminiscent of the 89 MC

We may be getting an El Camino too. Built on the Holden UTE.

'Fire rocking the dead red triangle.

I've got an '07 Chevy Cobalt LT Sedan. Sexy, right? 30 mpg for 10K so I'm not complaining much, though I plan to paint it to get rid of that dull gold color; at least two tone it. I can't say much about 'Fire rocking the dead brand car, since the Cobalt is being phased out for a new model in the coming year.

anyone do any upgrades to their audio systems? i want to get a dvd receiver that can do audio, dvd and gps but i want a really good one if i'm going to pay all the money.

any recommendations?

This is a year old pic:

Since then, I've got new springs, struts, brakes, and some headlight tint and rear emblem overlay.

I plan on getting rid of it next summer though..

I'm an incredibly nice guy, but not where money is concerned. I like to remind people that my step father and mother are economists so that's where I get my money sense. Besides, nobody wants to owe a lifelong martial artist money.

Those with money never want to lose it. :hehe:

But wait, don't hold out on us, Sensei ChickenScratch (I'm just starting out in BJJ & Karate)!

Please give us lowly cave dwellers some economy tips! We all want BMWs! :(

Long term, low yield investments. Buy what you believe in when it comes to products and stocks, and don't be afraid of the market, it'll dip but as long as people work and consume the market will continue to grow because there are always more consumers. It's all about having the discipline to put your money in a place you can't touch it for 10 years or more and give it a chance to grow.

An old picture of me and my Toyota Yaris Sedan S. Don't worry, I got it in 2007-- long before Toyotas became sabotaged defective death traps.

Toyotas are great, I've driven nothing but Toyotas and Lexus my whole life. My father still drives his 1980 Corolla. people want to pile on because they've had some recalls in the past year, forgetting that it's their first major recall when other companies (mostly American) have almost annual recalls.

Just compare the recall numbers by make - http://www.autorecalls.us/ http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/index.html

But even though I love my Lexus and Toyotas, my brother drove over the new BMW he got for his wife this evening ... made me totally jealous.

I'm in love with the paint job (Though not my colors, obviously, and that thorn on the rear door isn't my preference). I hope I can do something similar for my Cobalt this summer. What color was it originally, and how much did you enjoy the process of figuring out what you wanted it to look like?

Hey thanks...

I don't have anything invested in stock right now. In fact, I really have no investments at all. Any other tips for a guy like me that wants to start out?
