I wouldn't be shocked. Some believe it may have WiiU functionality which is why it could have been pushed back. We shall see.

Doubtful, since I already opened it & placed Zagg body shield all over it. It's practically BRAND NEW.

From what I've read around the internet, Nintendo has shot down the rumor of the redesign.

That is actually good news. I hate it when I get around to buying a system and then they announce a better one down the line. They did that to me with the original DS. I bought it way after launch and then it felt like a month later the DS lite came out, which was waaaaayyyy better than the original DS. I'm sure they will release a newer 3DS, but I'd prefer it be further along.

Agreed. I actually have the circle pad pro and quite like it. Saves me money by being 19.99 and not forcing me to upgrade.

My guess is we'll see a '3DS Lite' with a larger screen and possibly a second analog stick. I'd imagine an announcement soon and release sometime around the holidays.

I bought my 3DS today. Got the purple one because it was the only color I felt didn't look stupid or cheap. I got Super Mario 3D Land and Resident Evil Revelations. I love it, it has some of the best graphics I've seen on the system. I'm extremely happy with this bit of Nintendo tech.

Which color is it closest to?

Probably the bottom one, but it looks much darker in person. It's the midnight purple color.
