Oh I know, I know...I'm still eyeing 200.... I just don't see Nintendo pricing this over the Wii in NA. I may be wrong, and 250 does seem like a ball park range price point...but I'm still hoping for 200.

Regardless...I'll have to check the work preorder list, maybe we can preorder this now...or if not now...soon.

Even though it would be nice at 200.00 I don't think it'll be that cheap...ultimately it will be more than worth 250 for me. I haven't been this excited for a system launch in a good long while.
 
Quick question:

I haven't been following this very often since I really haven't had a lot of interest in it until very recently, but do we know if this will be backwards compatible with DS games?
 
Like I said, I want this system...that's what it is to me, a new system launch not just another "DS". We know what it does, we know that it would be easily worth 250 because it does what 3,000+ dollar TV's can't do and that's give us 3D without glasses but the normal Nintendo DS consumer (parents...lots and lots of parents) won't see what we see.

I suppose that's why Nintendo lowered the price of current DS models...I guess we'll see.

Yes it will be backwards compatible, and also those with DSis....Nintendo already has it in the works that any DSiWare games can be transfered to the 3DS so you won't lose any of them if you plan on trading them in for the 3DS.

Okay. If GS has a decent trade up system, I may trade my DS in and knock off the price some, but I don't want to miss out on Okamiden for the DS.

I may finally get to play Metroid II again, as I've had a bugger of a time finding a cart of it. :p
 
So what games do you guys think will be launch games ? I think it is safe to say that the usual Nintendo Franchises will most definitely be launch games such as Starfox, Zelda, Mario Kart at least
 
Looks exciting. Nintendo seems to be doing it right.

I'm sure it will be less than $300 in North America.

Parents won't care about what it does, they will just see a 300 dollar DS and wait on a price drop.

I'll tell you what parents care about, getting their kids to shut up in the car. :funny: And if $300 is what they have to pay for that, I'm sure they'll pay it.

Anyway, I'm definitely leaning towards getting one of these now. Especially with the announcement of Mega Man Legends 3 and a Virtual Console.

Capcom's 3 games are forcing my hand on this system! Two RE games, and Megaman Legends 3?

Yup, the system has me already planning on buying it.

I was going to use my gaming money I've been saving up for a PSP finally...well, Nintendo must have known that, because it's now going for a 3DS. :p
 
If I buy OoT (I will..who am I kidding) I will have officially given Nintendo money for that game THREE times. The original N64 release, the GameCube rerelease and the VC version.

Seriously...

I wish they would ****e out Majora's Mask as much as OoT...I may be in the minority here but I kinda thought MM was slightly better...
 
The VC on the 3DS has made this a day one purchase for me. I can't wait to play Metroid II, Super Mario Land, and Link's Awakening.
 
Agreed.

One question about that...and maybe I missed it, but can I transfer my previous downloads to the 3DS? Like, the downloads I made from the VC on the Wii? Oooor no?
 
I doubt it. I think the 3DS Virtual Console is specifically for handheld titles.
