Official Spider-Man 3 Soundtrack/Music Thread!

I've never moaned so much in my life, but than again I've never felt so strongly about a soundtrack in my life

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the soundtrack is pure trash.

what are you guys talking about?! we've only heard 3 songs so far.

video is crap kids are crappy and everyone there is crap.....yeah snow patrol is crap too...except the song.

This soundtrack makes me sad....I don't like/know any of the bands....it's mostly those English crap "The <Insert Plural Noun>" generic nonsense where they all sound the same...bring back Hero and Vindicated!

i really like all the music they have on here indie bands are always deep when it comes to stuff like this & im glad they used who they did it just gives it more emotion when you listen to it but thats just my opinion:D i can tell you so far im loving it!

what about the score cd? any news on that? I don't give a flying **** about the rock song cd.

Jacob
Same here. I assume they'll come out with one. From what I remember about the Spider Man 2 score CD, it came out a month after the movie. So I guess there'll be a score CD in late May/early June.

The Flaming Lips are my favorite band...so this can't get much better for me!

I don't like all these nu wave and nu metal bands though...but the Flaming Lips are one of the greatest bands on earth.

Rock Songs do not fit with Superhero Movies. As long as it is done similiar to how X-Men 2 did it with the whole Car & Backstreet Boys thing that is fine. But for the most part keep Rock Songs out of Comic Book Superhero Movies :down

agreed thats why i mostly buy instrumental scores:ninja:

I like the Snow Patrol song, and love that adorable video. but the other two songs were... just god awful. but goes to show you how they compose soundtracks for movies like this... whatever bands have new albums coming out in a wide alt-rock catergory.. either put a single on the soundtrack and say it relates, or have them write a song that relates

I now like the Snow Patrol song, the video is sweet and overall, I think it matches the tone and directions of the trilogy.

BTW, Hero is way too cheesy and dated, but Vindicated was class.

Not heard the other two songs yet.

The snow patrol video was a nice concept but like the song (and soundtrack) it's a jumbled mess and appears really ameturish

Theres gonna be a score CD. They did this same thing with Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. When Spider-Man 1 came out I remember being worried when I found out about the soundtrack and how it was full of songs. I was worried that it was gonna be like that in the movie, that it was gonna have wall to wall songs and no musical score to speak of, but my concerns were put to rest when I saw the film and it had no songs at all in it besides the ones in the end credits.

Sometime later they came out with the score cd. The samething happened with Spider-Man 2 and it was at this point that I noticed something.

For Spider-Man 1 there were 2 soundtrack CD's

"Spider-Man: Music From And Inspired By" and " Spider-Man: Original Motion Picture Score"

The same thing happened for Spider-Man 2. In fact I had this whole fiasco at Best Buy with this idiot employee that did not know the diff between the score cd and the song cd. I wanted the score cd of course, but he insisted that I wanted the song cd, I swear he was retarted. He did not even know what a musical film score was, I had to explain it to him and even then he did not get it. Finally I just got fed up and left, I got it that same day at Barnes and Noble.

Anyway for Spider-Man 2 that same thing happened."Spider-Man 2: Music From And Inspired By" and " Spider-Man 2: Original Motion Picture Score"

2 seperate cd's only one of which is the actual soundtrack which is the score cd. None of the songs that are on the "Music from and inspired by" CD for Spider-Man 2 are in the actual movie.

I see the same pattern with Spider-Man 3. If you take a look at the front of the Spider-Man 3 cd that is currently out it says " Music from and inspired by" so it stands to reason that none of the songs are actually going to be in the movie and they will come out with the proper score cd soon.

Dont worry fellow film score fans the movie will have all music score and little to no songs in it. In the scene where PP and Gwen are dancing I imagine that a song will be playing in that part, but thats appropriate and expected.

this may be a little off topic because it doesnt particularly pertain to the soundtrack but, does anyone know the name of the song used in the last 30 seconds of the final trailer? it gets a person so pumped up... i need to know where i can get it! :)

thanks

Dom, who runs the official Christopher Young web page, says that Young is working to secure a score release for Spider-Man 3 but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll happen. I suppose they're still trying to get the Bartek theme thing cleared up and put in the stuff that Young himself composed for the film. They also have to figure in whether Young is a popular enough composer to warrant a score release...

But if there is a score release, it certainly won't be released alongside the soundtrack. It will probably be released a few weeks after the movie is released. But I do want a score release, because I really liked the choir music Young composed for the birth of Venom and his rearrangement of Elfman's theme for the crane accident.

Yikes. Many of you dislike both The Walkmen and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Turn in your indie badges, folks.

Wrong, I am almost 100% certain that one of the songs from the soundtrack played when Peter was getting ready to go to MJ's play.

hahha yeah, I really liked the Yeah Yeah Yeahs track very much so. Still not sure what to think about the Walkmen's track being the second single and I'm DEFINITELY excited to hear The Flaming Lips' song!

True story, Jet's song from the soundtrack was playing, I'm also pretty sure Maroon 5's song plays some point in the movie

A Spiderman song that was seriously overlooked was Switchfoot's Meant To Live, it was actually a pretty good song, and far superior to Vindicated

It helps if you pour vinegar in your eyes and hot candle wax in your ears and than watch it
