Title: Serenity (IMDb)
Starring: Nathan Fillion
Released: 21st August 2007
SRP: $26.98
Further Details:
Universal Home Video has sent over early details on a new two-disc collector's edition of Serenity which stars Nathan Fillion, and Alan Tudyk. This Joss Whedon directed sci-fi will be available to own from the 21st August, and should retail at around $26.98. The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks. Universal has yet to reveal the extra material I'm afraid, but we'll bring you further details very shortly. Stay tuned.

Already got the German 2-Disc set. Gonna stick with it.

Awesome. If the extra material is good enough I might get this.

Gah, bastards. Well depending on the extra stuff...I may get it. Maybe.

/shrug was a okay movie. Not gonna help the 'mans' cause by buying the special edition. Wish ppl either stop buying the xtra-dvd so these cats will justs put it out once...
Kindof hate this. release dvd, then release extended cut or directors cut. then release another version. Why can't they just put everything they can on firsts one,and maybe charge a little more.Im glad I've weened myself off of buying the xtra stuff...
Rather see a 2 disc release w/wide screen-normal screen and all the xtra's they can possibly put in and charge 25 bucks. anywho, whatever. seriously doubt i'd buy this.

Such a great movie. And this is coming from someone who hates every Whedon TV show I've ever seen(not many). Hope it has some good DVD art, and the extras will make for a nice once through, but I have no problems buying such an awesome film twice. Most movies on the other hand..

The artwork for the 2-disc SE is excellent, although Universal should've used the spectacular custom artwork some fans came up with when Serenity had its official forums. Those put even the new one to shame, but anything is better than the photoshopped art on the first edition which made River look like a porn star.

And the Universal official web site says that the 2-disc edition will have digipak packaging, so this edition won't be in a keep case.

The artwork looks great.
This will be another film to be added to my DVD collection.
I have yet to get tired of this film on HBO. Highly underrated.

Nice art + digipak + DTS = I'm bying. Plus it seems that it has some extras that the German/Australian LE didn't have but misses some that those had. Don't care, 'cause I already have the German and I'm getting this R1.

Is there a ''not suck'' version avalible?

Because the show rocked...the movie not so much.

awesome-ness... serenity is easily one of my favorite sci-fi movies ever. i wish whedon would get a chance to do a second season of firefly (or finish season 1, i suppose)

i'm happy with the version i have but if i see it cheap i'll get it.

i remember the first time i saw it...watched all the stuff in the one weekend and almost cried when Wash died...only film i've ever cared that much about a character...Joss truely is a fantastic man and it's a shame his best thing died a horrible death:csad:

I love this movie... undecided on whether or not I'll get this new dvd (although I really want it now)

I'm just gonna wait for the Blu-Ray. Universal is jumping ship on HD-DVDead, I hear...

I love the cover, the special features aren't all that great (If that's all that's going to be on there.) but I'll probably pick it up anyways.
