aha so this is a comedy? it would make sense.

He's Oliver Stone for one thing. Alexander is another.

yes, Alexander sucked, also WTC. But the guy wrote and directed Platoon, Natural Born Killers, Wall Street and Born on the Fourth of July. Oh and also wrote Scarface. So, that's enough to show some respect for him.

Don't forget JFK!

It looks like a campy hit piece but I'm gonna see it anyway.

He looks a bit like his father, James Brolin (without the stache) in that picture.

I haven't seen Josh Brolin without facial hair since he played the older brother on Goonies.

I read the article in Entertainment Weekly, and apparently there was a scene from an early draft of the script that had Bush playfully locking Colin Powell out of a meeting room. This is going down in history as the funniest comedy of all time.

Agreed.

BWUAHAHAHAHA..

I gotta see this movie for sure. Sure, every media source is ripping Stone to shreds on this, mostly because they were expecting something more subtle and dramatic. Expectations can truly ruin a movie. I'm glad I had none here and I can see where Stone is taking this.

Anyone expecting that is a bigger idiot than they believe Bush to be. And Oliver Stone for that matter.

I don't believe Bush is an idiot, I know it as fact. :o

Best comedy biopic (not really a biopic) for a President was Primary Colors btw... this one won't even come close...

The real Laura isn't that hot

hahaha...i agree. Banks is a hottie, and in general very miscast in the role in my opinion, too young and too hot for laura...

i expected someone like julianne moore (not advocating, but suggesting the type/look of laura). funny, i was telling someone that the girl from 40-year-old-virgin is playing laura, and she thought it was a good choice....thinking i was talking about keener.

I just read the script and it was Very Good. I know it's an early draft but I hope it doesn't change much.

Alot of flashbacks and if Stone captures the script it will be a hit.

It's far from a comedy but theirs comical parts because W is part frat boy, part goofball, part silver spoons and part religious.

Below is a little spoiler

Bush is seen as a guy who is basically trying to prove himself to his father and this is partly why he went into Iraq according to the script. One because Saddam tried to kill the elder Bush and he was upset that his father didn't take him out in the first gulf war. It will definately give you some insight to Bush when he was young and he drank alot. There was no mention of Skull & Bones in the script and that surprised me. W doesn't look that bad in the script, just a conflicted man who mad unwise decisions at times. The villain in the script is Cheney. You can tell where Stone got some of his info because Colin Powell comes out looking good and so does David Kay. Condi does as well.

not that great of a picture of bush to be honest. after seeing will farell, frank caliendo, the guy from harold/kumar, and the guy from that's my bush, this is looks terrible. just the pics alone.

here are pics for comparisons...and no, the guy on the bottom is not really bush. it's a guy named steve bridges. i personally think all these guys look better than bush. but i guess they wanted a good actor. i think they need to fix the make-up just a bit.

Also, I read the script in one pass it was that good. W and his family dynamic is interesting. His family comes across as straight laced and he seems like the odd man out and this is why everyone thought Jeb would be President not W.

I'm about to start reading Pineapple Express with Seth Rogan & James Franco. I have W and Pineapple Express scripts if anyone wants to trade send me a PM.

Then I'm definitely looking forward to the film, then. Maybe this will be a mix of drama and comedy.

I'm already tired of seeing Bush on my tv screen, I don't think I want to see a biopic of him on the big screen.

Will his daughter's make appearances? I mean, seeing as one got married today..

His daughters were not in the script I read. It was about W, the Presidency and Iraq war and his father who he calls Poppy.

He also has a nickname for everybody. He calls Condi Rice Guru and Colin Powell he calls Balloon Foot and Powell didn't like the nickname that much.
