that would have been interesting to see Bale as Bush but I'm glad we have Brolin now. He looks so much like Bush.
well he is making a ''bush'' face all the time.
i dont think he looks like Bush. every actor who knows how to act with hes face can pull a bush impression.

If this thing is anything like the trailers it will be one of the strangest movies ever. Had a huh? Expression the whole time. This has to be a comedy.

haha that new trailer is awesome, thanks Dark Donnie

Awesome new trailer, they've nailed the look and style of everyone...except Poppy, who just looks and sounds like James Cromwell.

This trailer made me LOL, especially Dryfuss as Cheney. I never thought he would do it given he's a staunch liberal, but he nailed it.

Anyone else sick of Oliver Stone and his biographies?

That could be the point. Dryfuss plays Cheney like the scumbag he is... it works on both levels for him, as a liberal and an actor.

Wow Bale as Bush? Damn. I could imagine something already what he woulddo :D

Although I like Brolin alot in this role

Just from the trailer...It doesn't look good...

it looks more comical than i thought it was going to be :woot:

I know what you mean. It looks like a comedy, and I was hoping for a serious take on W's presidency, even though it isn't the right time for that.

To me, I think that's the point of the movie. You're supposed to laugh at it and think it's all slightly ridiculous, and then you're supposed to go "Wait a minute... that guy lead our country for 8 years".

When I first heard about this movie, I thought it was going to be a disaster, since Oliver Stone hasn't directed anything semi-decent since "Nixon" (and the last great movie of his was "Born on the Fourth of July").

However, after seeing the trailer, I feel compelled to see it. I have very low expectations for it, but it is sort of like a car wreck; I need to see it unfold, all the way until it erupts into a giant, uncontrollable fireball and no one makes it out alive.

Plus, Josh Brolin seems to have Bush down, so the worst it could come off as is a big-screen version of "That's My Bush," which I found humorous.

I read the script. It's not a straight comedy. It's a serious take on a man who's presidency may well be one large joke. The comedy comes from the things that people would find funny when juxtaposed with what is generally seen as the nature of being President of the United States.

I think it looks comedic but it's serious because he's been in office for 8 years.

I think Stone is saying the joke is on us because people elected this guy to be President.

It's like a movie I saw with Peter Sellers called Being There.

Chance Gardner was an idiot but people took the simple things he said as being profound.

Is the script good?

The George meets Laura scene was pretty well done as I believed Brolin was Bush in that clip.

The script is ok. It's really about what you'd expect from a biopic about Bush, sans all the attacks on his Bushisms. You don't really learn anything you don't already know about Bush, but it's handled fairly well. This is a movie made for people who don't follow politics, methinks.
