Once great shows SUCK now that I've got HDTV:(

So I finally invested in the fountain of youth that is HDTV!!!

...PROBLEM IS, most channels aren't upgraded to HD quality !!!!!!!!!

Now, Nip/Tuck looks like a ripped video on YouTube, and Wrestling is as Pixelated as anything illegal download blown up beyond repair.....WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!??!?!?!???!?

What a HEARTBREAKING revelation! Why didn't anyone tell me non-HD channels would look so bad??!?!?!??!?!

See, it's the other way around with our family. Just about all the networks have switched to HD, so now they look like ass on a regular television, unless you have "rabbit ears"(the television in my room is the only one that uses 'em).

by the time people can actually afford it, most channels will have implemented HD transmission... so yeah, no one can relate.

I can relate, I hope F/X goes HD soon, it's got some of the best shows, but being non-HD kinda sucks. At least all the big networks are HD and Veronica Mars will be HD now that it's on CW instead of UPN.

I think you should call your cable provider and ask what channels are "on-air" HD, meaning it's being broadcast in HD and all you need is a HDTV. If they aren't doing on-air HD you may not be getting HD signal at all just regular ass TV.


Bottom line, call your cable company and tell them this. "I have an HDTV, what content can I get in HD? How much extra does it cost? Do I need to buy/rent special gear?"

Dude, if standard defination TV shows look like **** on your HDTV, then your HDTV is set up incorrectly. Set the HDTV tuner to 480p & it will upscaled the 480i boardcasts. MY non HD channels look crsip & clear. I have a 46 inch HDTV.

Football in HD looks freakin amazing!

My cable provider has both WB and Fox in HD. I'd assume CW is in HD too, since it's on the former WB channel. All HD stuff is on different channels from the regular television though.

oh, i've got 3 tv's of my own, but only the HD is connected to cable b/c i just moved into a tiny-ass appt. now i love my place, don't get me wrong, but there's really no room for TWO tv's of above average size in there.

i'm gonna give this a try after work today. no one really helped me initially set up my HDTV so i may not know what i'm doing. the cable provider damn sure didn't help....if i'm too stupid to figure it out, i'll be PMing you, you can count on it

yeah, i know my way around the HD channels just fine...

but in response, that f***ing sucks! I have COX cable and they don't provide Fox OR WB(CW) in HD...I'm calling their asses right now to complain!!!

commercials suck no matter what resolution a tv is in. Weird thing is TNT shows everything in HD, commercials too.

I called my cable provider yesterday and complained...and the guy said he gets Fox HD in Tulsa!?!?!

That really set me off, b/c there's no reason a Tulsa affiliate should carry Fox HD and not the one in OKC.

So I called up the local Fox/WB/CW station and complained to two people (one of which was a voicemail). I don't feel any better. The local cable nazi's need to know what an injustice this is

...Followup to all of those wondering how my cable situation has been going:

I found out OKC DOES provide Fox HD and CW HD...but COX doesn't provide it!?!?! And worse, those mothaf****** dropped ABC HD as of Sunday morning!!!!

And NOBODY notified me of it. Do you know how i found out??!?!? The employees at Ultimate Electronics told me when I was returning my HDMI cable!?!?!!
