Once Upon a time in Mexico: Discussion Thread

Finally saw this movie (to say 'late' is an understatement). Looking at this thread looks like I'm going back in time :woot: I have not seen the first two films, so I cannot compare.

As I watched the film, it was interesting how many times Sands' voice changes. I heard Tom Hanson, Ed Wood, George Jung, a slight preview of Captain Jack Sparrow and Willy Wonka, and strangely, the Joker from The Dark Knight - which was kind of creepy in hindsight (and confirms my assurance that he would pull the role off; not that I want him to). In particular, the church scene, as well as the scene where he is having dinner with whathisface and the waitress keeps trying to clean his 'arm'.

Seriously haha...Some of the reviews are hilarious.

The movie had its moments, but it was so cluttered and congested with different plotlines and characters that most of the time I felt like I was watching cameos of actors pop in and out.

Wow, mega bump indeed!

I love this movie. I thought it could maybe be a little longer, to give it more of an epic feel, but this movie was just 102 minutes of badass. It was a perfect way to end the trilogy.

At least this sort of started a comeback for Mickey Rourke .

Yeah, everyone says The Wrestler but it was really this and Sin City. Robert Rodriguez gets no credit for making the man relevant again.
