Out of warrenty Xbox busted.... Anyone got any solutions that don't require much £££?

As the title says..... My Xbox is busted.... and as it's now out of warrenty it would take at least £75 to fix..... cash i just cannot spend right now....

The fault is that the Disc reader has stopped reading discs. My brother, knowing the Xbox was out of warrenty, has opened the caseing to try and look at the Disc tray and the reader....

Is there a fellow Hypster out there that knows a way of fixing the fault?

FYI once you open a 360 microsoft will NOT touch it even if you decide to pay for the repairs. if they receive a broken 360 with the 'void if removed' warranty seal/sticker under the front face plate they will send it right back to you.

Which is why it was only done once we looked at the the other alternatives.....

Beleive me.... we did take a few days to decide to open it......it wasn't a snap decision....

As for the creditt card.... had one before... bastard of a thing to keep under control..... and in this climate.... i can't afford for it to bite me on the arse....

Try cleaning out the disc reader, just yesterday I opened up my xbox to take all the fuzz and dirt out, there may be an excessive amount blocking the disc reader, or you could try to buy a new disc reader and install it yourself.
