I'd never heard of this band until all the Top 40 type stations started playing "Fireflies" over and over, but I really like that song and decided to check out the album "Ocean Eyes."

The theme of the music seems to be light, airy, and honestly a little TOO cutesy at times. But that's why I like it It's good music to space out to or to have on while driving, and it puts me in a happy mood.

A friend of mine is a big fan and recently got me into Owl City. I really really like the music. It was funny, he and I had actually been hanging out one night discussing a film we have been planning to make and we'd been listening to Owl City. The next morning I swung by the comic store to pick up a few books I'd been waiting on and they were playing it in the store. I got in the car afterward and about 10 minutes later, it came on the radio. I couldn't escape it! I hope it doesn't get overplayed or anything, but I hardly ever listen to the radio, I've always got my ipod plugged in.

A lot of the postal service, when i first heard fireflies i thought it was ben gibbard. Owl City anoys me in that way

I pretty much heard the Ocean Eyes album on YT & really like their music.

Like everyone else on the planet, I heard that song and thought "Oh, ****! Postal Service is back!" and then it got to the line "I get 1,000 hugs from 10,000 lightning bugs as they tried to teach me how to dance".

Which led me to believe that either Ben Gibbard had snapped, or that it was some crappy Postal Service knockoff. I'm thankful it was the latter. Lyrics like that should be a crime. Another awful lyric that apparently exists in one of his songs: "I would rather pick flowers instead of fights".

Like I said, it should be illegal to write lyrics like that.

Its almost like it sucks every ounce of "man" from my body. Its a truly vile, horrible song. I had to listen to Arnold talk about getting orgasams from pumping up, just to bring me back to a decent level.

I'm not a fan. The singing and lyrics are pretty gay and the music is okay I guess, but not like anything else I listen to.
