Panasonic teams up with Best Buy for 3D TV promotion

Yep. The PS3 is about to get a FW update that enables 3D. Some past games (via patch) and some future games will be 3D capable. It will be able to play 3D movies as well. It has to be used with a 3D TV of course.

As far as 3D TV's go, I will have to wait since I just got an HDTV not too long ago.

That is awesome news. I know some of my friends plan on getting one. I'll have to watch a few movies and see how 3D it actually is.

Make sure you tell them that the 3d glasses are sold separately and cost about $149 each.

The tv's aren't bad in price. I was expecting something like when LCD and plasma first came out. $7,000 for a 47 inch tv?

ouch for the glasses.

I read that the glasses aren't like the ones at the theatre. The article said they were huge and bulky and had to be recharged. Why arent' they like at the theatre?

I think i'll wait until at least the 2nd generation come out when they get some of the bugs fixed and the prices go down.

I got to check out a few minutes of Monsters vs. Aliens on the 3D HDTV at Best Buy this afternoon. It pretty cool, but I can't see paying $3000 for one of these.

Not a fan of the 3D.. The (non 3D) Panasonic G20 50" plasma is a beauty, considering getting one for myself.

Well I decided to treat myself last night..

Samsung 50" 7000 Series 3D Plasma. I was sold on the Panasonic Plasma, until I read that they're plasmas had issues with the black levels. And like I said, I wasn't a fan of the 3D until I saw a 3D plasma. I was blown away, I absolutely love this set.
