I kind of feel like there has to be some subconscious belief that the minute he slows down or stops, that’s when the end will come.

I can see that. I'm also surprised to see that Eastwood's resume is just as busy as Ridley's. I guess I didn't notice because his last couple of movies were more under the radar in comparison to what he was putting out in the 2000's.
