Michelle Pfeiffer has been approached to join the cast for a new version of the original 1978 hit musical "Grease" and has her heart set on playing an older character reports The Daily Telegraph.

Pfieffer says "It's a great idea and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy, she would be good. I would love to play the school principal. She is fun and has some great put-down lines. I think I would like the part now that I have been asked."

Michelle regretted taking the part of Stephanie Zinone in "Grease 2" and believes it set her career back as much as a decade.

I actually liked her in "Grease 2"; the film may not have been as good as the original, but I liked her character, and the whole Michael/Stephanie/Johnny triangle.

If this gets done, there has to be a sequel for the following:

    *Titanic

    *Saving Private Ryan

    *Castaway

    *Ghost

    *Maid in Manhattan

    *Pretty Woman

    *The Doors

You mean a remake. That's what we need. A remake of Pretty Woman starring Lindsay Lohan with Julie Roberts as her estranged mother.

I love the original, don't really want a sequel, but I suppose it could work well.

Glad they're starting the cast off strong.

I can ashamedly say that Grease rules. It doesn't need a remake.

Sadly, it will happen. Zac Efron will probably be Danny. Travolta will cameo as the coahc of the sports team that gets the pie thrown at him.

You can't remake a classic and do it justice. Just can't be done.

Ashamedly? There's no shame in admitting that Grease rules. Grease is the word. :cwink:

The worst part is, the damn studio with their liberal agenda will probably dumb it down to simply

That article reads weird. It doesn't sound like something she would say in an interview. Not to me anyway...

That will be the first movie I'll boycott....lol

I'm going to a lecture series featuring Dame Julie Andrews in December....I'll ask her what she would think of a remake...

I meant unashamedly. A lot of people will brand you a wussy, gay or both for liking it. I love it.
