Pheonix, Az - what is there to do?

Hello guys and gals,

I am going to be spending a week in Scottsdale playiong golf in a week and I was wondering if anybody would have any suggestions such as :

1. Great places for shopping (for my GF)
2. Great restaurants for food
3. Sights to see

The concierge at the hotel will be helping me but if there is any info from "locals" I would be interested in hearing or more accurately reading it.

BTW be warned, Scottsdale has set up cameras on the highways to automatically ticket speeders...

Yeah, Tempe... right outside of Phoenix.

Though Scottsdale has some pretty nice places to see too... just doesn't get as crazy as it does on Mill Ave. Or at least it used to get pretty crazy when I was going to college there. Fun times.
