Playing AC3 on ps3?

So i have some avi files i'm trying to play on my ps3 they don't play and i believe that's because they have ac3 audio.

Does anyone know how to get around this? as in converting somehow perhaps?

You can try converting them to DivX files. I think the PS3 can play those.
