Playstation Turns 25 Today, List Your Top 10 Ever Games

On December 3, 1994 – 25 years ago this week – the first PlayStation made its global debut in Japan. Starting from a humble beginning as an upstart within Sony, Ken Kutaragi and team delivered on a vision to elevate video games as a form of entertainment that everyone could enjoy, and to make a platform for game developers to express their creativity. The original PlayStation sold 100,000 units in Japan on its first day and went on to become the first-ever home console to surpass 100 million units sold globally.

Now 25 years on I thought it would be interesting to see what 10 games stand out for each of you above all the rest as your top 10 PlayStation games ever.

I will start us off (in no particular order)

I was going to post this, as I saw lots of ps 25th anniversary posts on facebook. Its crazy that its been 25 years, though the last time Ive played ps1 was like back in early 2000s. Its been that long!

I don't consider myself as a gamer because I'm quite selective to the games I play, and I think Ive only played like 20 to 30 games in ps1/ps2 while I didn't have ps3. My ps4 collection probably already surpassed the amount of the ps1/ps2 games I've played, though some of the ps4 titles were already released in ps3/ps2 and I'm still catching up to the games I've missed in the past.

A Plague Tale: Innocence

That game was just phenomenal. Constant tension, lots of heart, compelling characters, an intriguing plot, the Black Plague, and millions of flesh eating super rats.

Thanks to this thread that I reminded of what my favorite PS games are...

Yesterday, I re-open and replay a quick play of both Street Fighter Zero 2 and 1 from PS1... I started playing this when I was still on elementary school back in 2000... to this day, they both still my favorite fighting games...the character, the score, the combo, the charm of 2D graphic...this is a timeless treasure.


For FF X (This is my all time no.1 favorite game!! This is really a pure RPG game at its finest!), I plan to replay it sometime in near future (I know there is a PS4 Remaster version but playing it in old retro PS2 graphic give me different feel)...once again, thanks to this thread that made me wants to play again this retro classic game after so many years
