There are interventions, and then there's setting up an elaborate prank to convince your buddy he's been in a coma for ten years in an last-ditch effort to save his life
When their serial DUI-ing buddy got passed-out drunk again, Tom Mabe and Jim Clark launched what they called the "Epic Don't Drink and Drive Prank": They converted an office into a hospital room completely with persuasive medical gear and proceeded to make their friend believe he had crashed his car and was just now waking up from a ten-year coma.

I'm not entirely sure how much their prank "worked," but, at the very least, Mabe and Clark finally found a prank worth pulling.

This is as hilarious as it is needed in this guys life. Hopefully he stops drinking and driving. The news report alone is worth watching this video

That's hilarious and worth the effort if he does stop drinking.

They even did fake news! Bahahahahaha President Hilary Clinton! Miley Cyrus defecating in her trailer park....omg Beiber and Dael Earnhart JR gay! Dude.....I laughed soo hard!

Waste of time. As a drunk for 6 years, the only thing that will stop someone is yourself and nothing short of that. When you get sick and tired, you'll stop.

That or killing someone.

I can probably guess who wears the pants in the Bieberhardt marriage :hehe:

That was just like a Mission Impossible episode. There were plenty of them like that where they built a set, put on phoney news broadcasts and had random doctors coming in to tell the victim he or she had been in a coma for years.

Too bad he thought it was funny, and didn't seem to take it very seriously.

I think they could've done it a bit better. Instead of having a doctor coming I to tell him it's 2023 or putting on the TV, they could've just had the TV playing in the background, so that he would see it for himself. Then other doctors could pretend to be going about their business and ignoring him until he stops them to ask what year it is. I think they were trying to hard.

While true that only he can make that choice, it may not be a waste of time if it convinces him to examine his life.

Oh, it definitely could have been done better. Forget the tv thing altogether or even the being in a coma for 10 years, just tell him he killed someone(his wife or daughter) and/or bring the rest of his family in to see him.

Pretty awesome prank.....hopefully it will make a difference, but I'm skeptical.
