Either way, happy father's day to all those male hypsters helping create a new generation.

Happy Father's day everyone. I never realized how big a deal it was until I became a father.

Thanks. Would've been a better day if my son wasn't feeling sick today. Scratched plans on going to the Camden Aquarium. Don't have much of a Plan B since my son rarely gets sick.

the first song I ever think about when it comes to Father's Day just so happens to be the first one on that link that was posted

Daddy's Hands
Artist: Holly Dunn

I remember Daddy´s hands, folded silently in prayer.
And reaching out to hold me, when I had a nightmare.
You could read quite a story, in the callouses and lines.
Years of work and worry had left their mark behind.
I remember Daddy´s hands, how they held my Mama tight,
And patted my back, for something done right.
There are things that I´ve forgotten, that I loved about the man,
But I´ll always remember the love in Daddy´s hands.

Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´.
Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong.
Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle
But I´ve come to understand.
There was always love in Daddy´s hands.

I remember Daddy´s hands, working 'til they bled.
Sacrificed unselfishly, just to keep us all fed.
If I could do things over, I´d live my life again.
And never take for granted the love in Daddy´s hands.

Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´.
Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong.
Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle
But I´ve come to understand.
There was always love in Daddy´s hands.

Daddy's hands were soft and kind when I was cryin´.
Daddy´s hands, were hard as steel when I´d done wrong.
Daddy´s hands, weren´t always gentle
But I´ve come to understand.
There was always love .....
In Daddy´s hands.

Never heard it before. Ok. Maybe Chrisette's is the only R & B song that celebrates fathers.

The video is a variation on a theme, but you can get the message.

Nice. There are, however, far more songs that celebrate Mom & more songs that trash Dad, I think.

My favorite is Jenny's Got A Gun.

No "Cat's in the Cradle"? Come on, peoeple!

I think they're looking for positive Dad songs, not that kind. Stiill, not a bad choice.

Still, there are others.

In My Father's Eyes by Clapton (the best in this category)
Just the Two of Us by Will Smith (Lame with a capital La, but it fits the theme)
In the Living Years by Mike and the Mechanics
Keep on Singing by Austin Roberts
Scarlett Ribbons (when Harry Belafonte sings it)
Turn Around

Will's song is from the father's perspective.

Check out "The Best Of Times" from the new Dream Theater album, it's dedicated to the drummer's father that passed away and is about their relationship.
