Craig looks about a thousand times better than he does in the teaser! My god, its like the man is a chameleon! These shots are evidence that in the final release, he could well own the Bond role.

It's not the man who is a chameleon, it's the photographer who did the job.
The only true test is " How does he look in a movie / teaser / trailer ".

Craig seems to look relatively like bond only on promotionnal shots, not a good thing.

Bond isn't only about look, he is about his behavior and how he moves on screen. For me, the only credible tests are the teaser and the future trailer. And in the teaser, he sucked as Bond. Hope for him that he won't in the trailer.

I thought Craig owned in that teaser, aside from the horridly lit last shot (and even then, in that last shot, the look in his eyes is wonderful). That shot of him disembarking the plane with the sunglasses = very cool.

Nah, he looked like Bond the whole way through, whether driving that bulldozer, removing his sunglasses as he walks in front of the house, walking out of the ocean, making out with Eva Green, or pursuing Mollaka across the rooftops and through the embassy.

And at least as he moves he's not doing Brosnan's "trying too hard" way of moving around as Bond. Brosnan *always* looked like he was just trying too hard to run and walk "cool" and it didn't work.

I respectfully disagree. Brosnan was a very good Bond, and there was nothing wrong with the way he moved. Period.

It's a bit harsh to judge him on the teaser alone.

first off; It was a teaser with loads of shots with Bond in action. Which is what most people (not talking about the fans) look for in a Bond film.

Seond: In the teaser they also showed the grim direction they are taking with this movie. So Bond doesn't look very happy most of the time. (maybe not a very smart marketing move) The last shot is a representation of the change the character goes through in the story. He ends up as a cynical, bitter man.

Third: Craig had two lines in the teaser. Both of them are spoken in an annoyed way. Probably because he is sick of M's speech.

I am very confident that they will show the smooth, gentleman Bond we all know and love in the Trailer.

I agree we need to wait and see. But in the trailer let's just say outside of that shot with him talking to M and the plane shot he looked very unBondish. That includes the thugish shots of him in a tux and how ugly he looked trying to screw Vesper and driving a bulldozer, etc.

But I will give him the benefit of the doubt and wait for the final film. It is impossible to gauge a performance by a teaser or a trailer as they are just snippets made to market the movie. The promo shots (there are more) had me more impressed with Eva Green on yahoo movies. Craig looked good in them though (except for the first one with his face all screwed up, he really looked closer to Ethan Hunt there than James Bond).

And I think most fans would consider it a compliment if he reminded them of Brosnan, not that he should or have to. Right now he is reminding me of Dalton, except not handsome. And no, I am not complimenting him when I say he reminds me of Dalton.

We'll see though.

Oh yes there was. It was so self-aware, so "trying to be cool" instead of just losening up. Brosnan just needed to relax and give a calm, cool, and confident performance like he did in THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR - Brosnan even admitted he never really felt like he belonged in the role.

Oh he looked great screwing Vesper. The skinny-dipping in the waters might actually bring some much needed sensuality back to the sex scenes of the Bond series. And the driving a bulldozer? *Excellent*. That's just Bondian bad-ass, right there.
