So I have a first or second gen slim line PS 3 120GB. I've been playing Black Ops zombies online with my brother in-law and nephews as well as multi-player with other people online and I started to notice that I was getting disconnected from the host. But this would only happened it seemed after 40+ minutes.

I then finally figured it has to be me because, well I am usually the host during games. So we would get to level 18, level 22 and boom, disconnected from host and the game would end.

I've also noticed that sometimes I can't sign in, so I will have to switch back and forth from ethernet to wireless. I know it's not my actual service. 1. It's comcast and despite my loathing of the company, their internet service is actually pretty damn good. 2. I never have issues with my computers, any of them when I am online for hours.

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm still holding out hope that it might be the game or maybe some settings?

Bah,

This might seem really simple, but do you have a level limit or something (I don't play the game, so I'm not sure. Hehe). Also, what kinda of router are ya using? You might have the router set to a 40 min refresh of the IP address, despite usually it's a few days, but ya never know.

Does anything else weird happen when you disconnect? Say, all of your bandwidth slows down?

No, no level limit as far as the game goes. I'm using an Apple Extreme wireless router and the modem appears to be a ubee D 3.0. I don't think my router is set to refresh the I.P. address that often but I am also not entirely sure.

How would I find out. As far as I know, nothing else weird seems to happen. Anything else I can provide that might help?

So some updates, I've done some research online and none of it has proved successful in resolving my issue.

"An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlaystationNetwork. (9807100920)"

So I did some google research and it seems this issue has been around for a few years now, with various fixes that work for some but not all.

I found that disabling the media server fixes this issue for some. Didn't for me.
Also unplugging everything and powering everything off, PS3, Router, Modem. Didn't work.
Using Ethernet instead of wireless. Didn't work.
Manually changing the DNS settings. Didn't work.
Disabling Upnp. Didn't work.

Then the other day, April 17, I couldn't sign on at all no matter what I did. But then I found that some *****e has attacked the PSN before and has caused major issues, allegedly he said he would launch an even bigger attack on April 16, 2011...well come the 17 I couldn't get on at all.

Does anyone have any ideas at all? I'm off tomorrow and will contact PSN support directly but who knows where that will get me. I've already used their support articles and to no avail.
