ps3 theme gray backround help

I know it changes colors depending on the month, but it supposed to go black at night. Mine goes gray. It is very drab and depressing. I have an old big screen TV with standard output in video and audio. I had downloaded new themes from the Internet, but I just want my old theme back to normal. I try to darken it with the settings but it does not look right. I don’t know how to fix it. I thought it was the TV, but all the other themes work, so I don’t know what to do.

It might be that that's the way it's supposed to be because of the last hardware upgrade. I've noticed a slight difference in the way the background behaves, too, since the last update. There may be nothing you can do about it.
