Superman Returns Quick Question

Ok I know people are gonna get annoyed by this question but I havnt posted in a while. Where does SMR fit in with the previous 4 movies. Does it ignore SM 3 & 4? Once again I know many of you will be annoyed by this but thank you to anyone who responds.
